Independent theater company Match: Lit will present a queer take on Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT, directed by Zeynep Akca. TWELFTH NIGHT runs through February 27 at Westbeth Community Room & Gallery (55 Bethune Street, New York, NY).

The National Youth Theatre (NYT) has released production images for its West End production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Matt Harrison working in association with Kneehigh and abridged by Kate Kennedy, which runs at the Criterion Theatre until 17 January 2020, with its official press matinee taking place on 10 December, marking the final production in the 2019 NYT REP Season.

Shakespeare in the Park in Bergen County is back for a second year! Black Box Studios initiated free performances of Shakespeare's works in 2018, with rotating performances of Twelfth Night and Macbeth. This summer, the team will return to the stage with Romeo & Juliet and Othello!

The Alley Theatre and Interim Artistic Director James Black announce the cast and crew of the 2018-19 Hubbard Season opener, Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, directed by Jonathan Moscone. The Alley presents an inventive, nontraditional, yet faithful production of Twelfth Night set in the 1930s that showcases not only the resident acting company, but also a diverse group of performers making their Alley debut. Chicago Shakespeare Theater presents the North American premiere of Jessica Swale's exuberant new comedy Nell Gwynn, September 20-November 4, 2018. The music- and dance-filled play took London audiences by storm when it debuted at Shakespeare's Globe, followed by a celebrated run on the West End. Director of the original London production, Christopher Luscombe, helms the new Chicago Shakespeare production. Star of Broadway and the West End Scarlett Strallen appears as Nell; Chicago leading actor Timothy Edward Kane performs the role of King Charles II.

California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) announced further details today for the Shakespearean centerpiece to the 2018 Epic Season, The War of the Roses. The War of the Roses is a monumental evening of theater spanning four history plays-the Henry VI trilogy and Richard III. Presented as an action-packed evening, The War of the Roses will deliver a fast-paced, far-ranging, vividly theatrical depiction of two powerful families-the Lancasters and the Yorks-and their decades-long fight for the English throne. Political unrest and power grabs collide with weak leadership and civil strife as the country fights against the threat of tyranny.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, opens its 2018/19 season with Qui Nguyen's Vietgone, directed by Lavina Jadhwani, featuring original music and music direction by Gabriel Ruiz and choreography by Tommy Rapley. Vietgone runs August 15 - September 23, 2018 in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe. The Press Opening is Wednesday, August 22 at 7:30 p.m.

SPROUTED! is the second professional musical for kids in BBPAC's 2018 season of professional theater. While the company brings free Shakespeare to the park - with fully staged professional productions of Macbeth and Twelfth Night - to Teaneck, Englewood, Ridgewood, and Park Ridge, the new show performs in the Black Box Performing Arts Center. Parson's Nose Theater (PNT), the acclaimed classical comedy theater company, opens "Clearly Classic: Shakespeare's Twelfth Night" this weekend. "Clearly Classic" is a new PNT series which includes a brief introduction to a classic play's characters, language, and themes, enhancing its enjoyment for today's audience. This is an original 90-minute adaptation by Artistic Director Lance Davis.

5-STAR THEATRICALS (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre) continues its 2017-2018 season with the Thousand Oaks premiere of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Peter Parnell (based on the Victor Hugo Novel and songs from the Disney film), musical direction by Dan Redfeld, choreography by Michelle Elkin and directed by Misti B. Wills. Drury Lane Theatre announces casting for the first production of its 2018/2019 season, the Tony Award-winning musical South Pacific, with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Oscar Hammerstein II and Josh Logan, and adapted from Tales of the South Pacific by James Michener. This production is directed by Victor Malana Maog with choreography by Otis Sallid and musical direction by Roberta Duchak. South Pacific runs April 5 - June 17, 2018, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The press opening is scheduled for Thursday, April 12 at 8:00 p.m.

The River Street Theatre (RST), a project of The Park Theatre, will be presenting the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) new production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night on Sunday, March 25 and Wednesday, March 28 (both at 2 PM). The presentation is part of the RST's Stage2Screen Series.
