TheaterWorks Hartford Producing Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero announced today that the limited run of EVERY BRILLIANT THING will star Chad Jennings (Broadway's WICKED). Artistic Associate ERIC ORT (THE WOLVES) will direct. Rob said 'I love this piece. It's exactly what we need in these challenging times. A life affirming, healing experience that can only happen in the theater. I couldn't be more excited!'

Just last night, New York Stage and Film celebrated its annual Winter Gala, honoring six-time Tony Award-nominated producer and philanthropist Diana DiMenna, and Academy Award and four-time Golden Globe-nominated and Tony Award-winning actor and producer Tom Hulce. The Winter Gala, a fundraising event to support New York Stage and Film's year-round theater and film development initiatives, was held at The Ziegfeld Ballroom (141 West 54th Street, New York City).

Intense. The Echo Theater Company opens its 2019 season with theLos Angeles premiere of The Wolves, the debut play by "playwright to watch" Sarah DeLappe that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Alana Dietze (Dry Land) directs for aMarch 16 opening at Atwater Village Theatre. Pay-what-you-want previews begin March 13, and performances continue through April 22.

Lesser America (Half Moon Bay, The Bachelors, Carnival Kids, Trevor) presents the New York Premiere of IN A WORD by Lauren Yee, winner of the 2016 Francesca Primus Prize and a finalist for the ATCA/Steinberg Award. Directed by Tyne Rafaeli (The Bridges of Madison County national tour, Actually at Geffen Playhouse), performances run through July 8 at Cherry Lane Theatre, where Lesser America continues its run as the inaugural Company in Residence. Project Y Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of GREAT AGAIN, an evening of plays in two parts: The Test by Crystal Skillman (directed by Jessi D. Hill) and In the Line by Chiori Miyagawa (directed by Kristin Horton and choreographed by Sonoko Kawahara). This double bill of new plays was commissioned by Project Y Theatre Company, written as a response to the November 2016 election and presented as the centerpiece of the 2nd Annual Women in Theatre Festival dedicated to broadening opportunities for women playwrights. GREAT AGAIN runs through June 24 at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres with opening set for Tuesday, June 6. The Playwrights Realm, led by Katherine Kovner, Founding Artistic Director, and Roberta Pereira, Producing Director, celebrated its tenth anniversary with the annual Writers Block Party honoring Realm Board Member and award-winning playwright and actor, Anna Deavere Smith. Directed by Mike Donahue and riffing on the lives and works of certain 19th-century novel-writing sisters, The Moors is a dark comic examination of the ways in which women fight for visibility.

Lane Cove Theatre Company brings Rudyard Kipling's THE JUNGLE BOOK to life in a family friendly Community Theatre stage adaptation.

Rehearsals are underway for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's Chicago premiere production of Constellations, the 80-minute, award-winning hit by British playwright Nick Payne. Directed here by prolific Chicago director and Steppenwolf artistic producer Jonathan Berry, Constellations premiered at the Royal Court in London to rave reviews before transferring to the West End and Broadway. The romantic two-hander stars ensemble member Jon Michael Hill as Roland (CBS-TV's Elementary, Steppenwolf's Superior Donuts) and Jessie Fisher as Marianne (Once on Broadway, Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Othello). Constellations begins previews May 26, 2016 (Press/Opening night is Wednesday, June 1 at 7:30pm) and runs through July 3, 2016 in the Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N Halsted St. Tickets ($20 - $89; $35 tickets offered every Tuesday with code 'TUESDAYS') are available through Audience Services at 312-335-1650 and steppenwolf.org. Check out a first look below!
