Geva Theatre Center presents Hair, with book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, music by Galt MacDermot, directed by Melissa Rain Anderson, with musical direction by Don Kot, and choreography by Liz Ramos in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from September 4 through October 7.

Broadway had never seen anything like it: An anti-war rock musical featuring nudity, profanity and drugs. 'Hair,' premiering on stage in 1968, was a reflection of the turbulent times. Diane Paulus, who fell in love with the show's music at age eight, and would grow up to direct a Tony-winning Broadway revival of 'Hair' in 2009, talked with CBS Sunday Morning correspondent Susan Spencer about the importance of the show in musical theater history.

This is the 50th anniversary of the love-rock musical Hair, which took the Broadway stage in April 1968. James Rado, co-creator of Hair as well as an original Broadway cast member, was in his hometown of Rochester, N.Y. recently to be inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame. There he met up with Florence LaRue, lead singer of The 5th Dimension -- the band that blended two songs from Hair to top the pop-music charts.

American mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick is one of the world's leading exponents of the dramatic Verdi repertoire. Her talent was first noticed when she was a pre-med student at the University of Nevada in Reno. Some years after that, she debuted with the San Francisco Opera as Azucena in IL TROVATORE, and it brought her international stardom. Decades later, she is best known for her interpretations of Amneris in AIDA, Eboli in DON CARLO, Ulrica in UN BALLO IN MASCHERA, Ježibaba in Dvo?ak's RUSALKA, and Adalgisa in Bellini's NORMA.

On last night's LATE LATE SHOW, James Corden invited Broadway superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda to star in his most challenging role yet - HAIR - performed in a real crosswalk on Beverly Boulevard at CBS.

In response to the recent events in the United States and all the anger, hostility, and fear that has accompanied them, over 40 performers from the New York Theatre and Cabaret communities came together this weekend and created a video of 'Let the Sunshine In' from the 1968 musical HAIR as a message of hope and love for all peoples everywhere. New York's acclaimed Public Theater, in association with Cameron Mackintosh, recently announced that 'HAIR', the 2009 Tony-Award winning musical, will open at the Gielgud Theatre on Wednesday 14 April 2010, following previews from 1 April. Tickets went on sale Friday 20 November 2009.
