Stop! Look! Listen! 1915

For those of you who feel the need for a light, fun evening of laugh out loud comedy and a delightful meal, let me recommend “SQUABBLES” a live comedy play that has Just opened at New Theatre Restaurant in Overland Park.  “SQUABBLES” is a light comedy with an unusually tight and experienced cast featuring Donny Most (from the old “Happy Days” sitcom) and an excellent group of mostly local actors. 

This is a rock musical revue with a wild non-stop party, celebrating strong, invincible women while reliving the 1970's Greatest Hits.  “FOXY LADIES LOVE BOOGIE 70'S EXPLOSION!”

The stage lights shone brightly as the Collaborative School of the Arts hosted the eighth annual High School Musical Theatre Awards on the MainStage at Proctors Saturday, May 4 in partnership with The Broadway League.

A surreal chaotic comedy following a misfit family from Glasgow’s fringes as they prepare a party to say farewell to a beloved black-market animal.

On Friday, May 3rd, I had the pleasure of seeing yet another first-rate production by the Castle Craig Players at the Almira F. Stephan Memorial Playhouse in Meriden, CT! This stellar cast keeps the audience entertained with their excellent stage presence, stage chemistry, and positive energy, as this intriguing story unfolds, THE 39 STEPS. Director Todd Santa Maria helps bring out the best in this phenomenal cast featuring Matthew Griffiths, Angelina D’Albero, Matt Monitto, and Gabriel Sousa. I was not previously familiar with this show, but seeing it performed by this cast, I feel as if they elevated it to heights that were never reached before! This casts’ delivery, mannerisms, and comedic timing shine through in ways far superior to that which could be detailed or explained in a script. The constant laughter and applause from this lively packed house strongly suggests that the rest of the audience tremendously enjoyed this show, as I did!

In May, Creative Cauldron will present The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin. A show about a girl who is stuck between two worlds within her own identity, as she strives to make a name for herself in the bright lights of Broadway.

Tune in to see the cast of The Great Gatsby on Good Morning America next week! On Monday, May 6, the cast of the Broadway musical will be on GMA to perform a number from the production, which is currently playing on Broadway. The program airs 7:00-9:00 a.m. EDT on ABC.

Tune in to see Cole Escola on Seth Meyers next week! On Tuesday, May 7, Cole Escola will stop by Late Night with Seth Meyers to talk about his Off-Broadway (and soon Broadway) hit play Oh, Mary. The program airs 12:35/11:35c on NBC. It was recently announced that the play, written by Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton, will transfer to Broadway this summer, following its sold-out, twice-extended world premiere run at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

‘Waiting For Tonight’ offers a modern take on the original Jennifer Lopez classic that became a global phenomenon after its release in 1999. FISHER's contemporary rendition of ‘Waiting For Tonight’ pays homage to the towering original, a track which, at its time, transcended music culture and marked a pivotal milestone in Jennifer Lopez's already-prolific career. Jonathan Groff, who is currently playing the role of Franklin Shepard in the Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along, visited Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday. This marks his first talk show appearance since receiving a Tony nomination for his performance in the musical.
