Today we celebrate the life and career of the late legend Elaine Stritch on her birthday.

Broadway legend Elaine Stritch was born on February 2, 1925. In 2013, she celebrated her 88th birthday on Theater Talk with musical director Rob Bowman and actor Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, along with co-hosts Susan Haskins and Michael Riedel. Had Stritch not died in 2014, she would have been 93 today.

Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Broadway vets and friends of the late stage legend Elaine Stritch will gather at 54 Below for a one-night-only concert on September 12, it was announced today. Scheduled to perform at this time are Christine Ebersole, Beth Leavel, Jeremy Benton, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, and Lindsie VanWinkle, with more appearances to be announced as the date draws closer.
