Throughout 2019, GKIDS and Fathom Events' STUDIO GHIBLI FEST 2019 presents a series of Studio Ghibli's celebrated animated masterpieces on cinema screens nationwide, along with some very special surprises.

Beginning August 5, getTV will begin airing episodes of the popular sitcom “Hot in Cleveland,” starring Valerie Bertinelli (“One Day at a Time”), Jane Leeves (“Frasier”), Wendie Malick (“Just Shoot Me”) and Betty White (“The Golden Girls”). The series, which ran on TVLand from 2010 to 2015, will air August 5 at 6PM ET.

Brooklyn-based theatre company Colt Coeur will present the east coast premiere of Jonathan Spector's screamingly funny yet profound EUREKA DAY. Spector's lauded play uses a heated vaccination debate at a progressive elementary school as a metaphorical lens for the escalating hostility of America's culture wars and our inability to listen to those with whom we disagree. This timely comedy is directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Primary Stages' Downstairs, Colt Coeur's Joan). Previews begin Saturday, August 24th with official opening set for Thursday, August 29th. Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis and Producing Director Will Rucker, will open DIG, the first World Premiere production of the 42nd Season, on July 11. The play is written and directed by the Festival's Resident Playwright, Theresa Rebeck.

Tim Daly has starred in three Main Stage productions since 2013, including his role alongside sister Tyne Daly in the World Premiere of DOWNSTAIRS by Theresa Rebeck, which transferred Off-Broadway in fall 2018. ?Dina Janis and the Dorset Theatre Festival have provided me and many artists with a spectacular artistic home. Dorset is beyond fortunate to have this theatre in the community.? -Tim Daly Actor, director, producer and philanthropist, Tim Daly currently stars as ?Henry McCord? in the hit CBS series ?Madam Secretary?. Before beginning ?Madam Secretary?. Daly appeared on the small screen on critically acclaimed series such as CBS? remake of ?The Fugitive?, ABC?s ?Private Practice?, NBC?s ?Wings?, and HBO?s ?The Sopranos?, for which Daly received an Emmy Award Nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Daly served as executive producer on the Showtime feature ?Execution of Justice?, which garnered him a GLAAD Award for ?Outstanding Made for Television Movie.? He also produced the filmed ?Edge of America?, which opened the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, and won the Humanitas Prize and the George Foster Peabody Award. Always eager to return to the stage, Daly most recently starred opposite his sister, Tyne Daly, in Theresa Rebeck?s new play, DOWNSTAIRS, at the Cherry Lane Theater. The play was first produced at the Dorset Theater Festival, where Daly has done several other productions Daly?s first Broadway appearance in COASTAL DISTURBANCES earned him the Theatre World Award. He also won the Drama League award for Best Actor in the Los Angeles Coast Playhouse production of COLORADO CATECHISM. Other theater credits include SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION at the Williamstown Theater Festival, THE CAIN MUTINY COURT MARTIAL at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, THE EXONERATED at the Bleeker Street Theater, HENRY FLAMETHROWA at Studio Dante, and OLIVER, OLIVER at the Manhattan Theatre Club. For the past eight years, Daly has served as president of The Creative Coalition and serves on the board of InsideOUT Writers. Daly, a father or two, studied theatre and literature at Bennington College and divides his time between New York, Vermont, and Connecticut. We are so lucky to have her as our headlining entertainment at this year?s gala.? - Kim Beaty Narrator, writer, and broadcaster Jamie Bernstein became a lifelong cultural enthusiast growing up in the ebullient household of her parents, composer-conductor Leonard Bernstein and pianist and actress Felicia Montealegre. Inheriting her father?s passion to share and teach, she has devised several ways of communicating her own excitement about classical music, including The Bernstein Beat, a family concert about her father modeled after his own groundbreaking Young People?s Concerts. She also has narrated concerts about Mozart and Copland. From Beijing to Caracas to Vancouver, she appeared as a concert narrator in Sir William Walton?s Facade, Copland?s A Lincoln Portrait, her father?s Symphony No. 3 (Kaddish), and others. Outfest – the Los Angeles based non-profit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen – today announced its 2019 Achievement Award recipient, Nisha Ganatra, and its galas, including Opening and Closing Night, for the 2019 Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival, presented by HBO. The nation's premiere LGBTQ festival will be held July 18-28, 2019.

Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis, will mount two world premiere productions during the 42nd Season. DIG, written and directed by Theresa Rebeck (July 11-27, 2019), and MRS. CHRISTIE by Heidi Armbruster (August 1-17, 2019) fall between the Festival's previously announced runs of Noel Coward's PRIVATE LIVES (June 20-July 6, 2019) and SLOW FOOD by Wendy MacLeod (August 22-31, 2019) at the Dorset Playhouse (104 Cheney Road, Dorset, VT 05251).

CBS announced today that it has renewed six more drama series and two news programs for the 2019-2020 broadcast season. SEAL TEAM, S.W.A.T., MADAM SECRETARY, BULL, HAWAII FIVE-0 and MACGYVER will return to the CBS lineup next season, along with longstanding primetime news shows 60 MINUTES and 48 HOURS. With these pickups, CBS has now renewed 18 series for next year.

Adrienne Campbell-Holt, founding artistic director of New York's Colt Coeur theater, has been attached to the political drama 'Contested'. It will mark her feature film directing debut.

Primary Stages announced today the selections for ESPA Drills 2019, a developmental play program that provides staged readings to four playwrights selected by blind submission, for scripts developed at Primary Stages ESPA. Presented by Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), the plays are workshopped under the guidance of the Primary Stages ESPA staff. All readings are free and open to the public and will be held at The Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) on Monday, April 1 and Monday, April 8, 2019.

Daryl Roth presents the world premiere of Accidentally Brave, written by and starring Maddie Corman(Appropriate, Next Fall), which opened Off-Broadway last night, March 25, 2019 at DR2 Theatre in Union Square.  The play is directed by Tony Award Nominee Kristin Hanggi (Rock of Ages, bare). Previews began on Monday, March 11 for the production's limited engagement through Sunday, July 14. at the DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th St, NYC). 

The television station of the City University of New York (CUNY TV) is proud to announce the launch of a new monthly theater interview program, THEATER: All the Moving Parts. The show, hosted by veteran journalist and commentator Patrick Pacheco, will debut on March 15, 2019, at 9:30 pm with Theresa Rebeck ("Downstairs", "Bernhardt/Hamlet") as the inaugural guest. It will also be streaming at tv.cuny.edu so that anyone can watch it online.
