The Films in Competition Announced For The 2019 American Black Film Festival

The 23rd Annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is excited to announce their distinctive 2019 lineup of narrative features, documentaries and short films in competition. Films are set to screen in Miami from June 13-15 at the Regal Cinemas South Beach and the New World Center.

It is directed by Flea Artistic Director Niegel Smith. Now in previews, opening night is slated for Thursday, August 30.

Corkscrew Theater Festival to Present 5 Free Readings of New Plays

Free tickets can now be reserved for the reading series presented by Corkscrew Theater Festival, running August 7 - September 3 at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street, Manhattan). A joint effort from The Brewing Dept. and Fortress Productions, this new summer theater festival provides early-career artists a high level of production support and features five world premieres and five readings performed in repertory over four weeks. Special attention has been given to theater makers who are developing work through innovative and unusual collaborative models. A majority of the participating artists identify as women.

Fulton's one-act comedic drama Roof-Top Joy, directed by Ward Nixon for a 3-weekend run, April 13-30.   The play premiered in 2015 as part of Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival, and was subsequently excerpted at the Theater's February 2016 Love n' Courage annual fundraiser and later in their 2016 Lower East Side Festival.
