The National Theatre has today announced its new season

The Ojai Film Festival and Women In Film (WIF) will present a Legacy Series event with acclaimed actress Eva Marie Saint on Friday, November 9 at the Ojai Art Center. The intimate filmed interview produced by WIF's Ilene Kahn Power and Dorothea Petrie, directed by Petra Haffter, and edited by David Flores and Zachary Weintraub, is a 40-minute retrospective of the Academy, and Emmy award-winning star's career in film, television and stage. The event begins at 4 pm with the screening, followed by Q&A with Ms. Saint. A reception will follow.

Producers David Binder, the National Theatre, Patrick Myles, David Luff, Ros Povey and Lee Menzies announced today that TONY GOLDWYN ("Scandal," Promises, Promises) will join BRYAN CRANSTON (All The Way, "Breaking Bad") and TATIANA MASLANY ("Orphan Black," Mary Page Marlowe) in NETWORK at Broadway's Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).

NETWORK was previously scheduled to play the Cort Theatre.

Calling all TV fans, the Tribeca TV Festival is back on the big screen bringing audiences together to discover new series and be the first to see favorite new season premieres. The 2nd Tribeca TV Festival will celebrate unforgettable storytellers who have shaped what 'peak TV' is today and introduce new voices in episodic storytelling. Over four days at Spring Studios in New York City, each event will feature a conversation with the stars and creators of favorite and soon-to-be-favorite shows. Full casting has been announced for Her Story Theater's world premiere of MONGER: THE AWAKENING OF J.B. BENTON - the fourth play in its cycle of dramas exposing sex trafficking practices in Chicago. Written by Her Story Theater Founder and Producing Artistic Director Mary Bonnett, and directed by John Mossman, Co-Founder of The Artistic Home, MONGER follows a Chicago criminal defense attorney with a secret sex life who deals with his sensitive 16-year-old son's legal crisis on the day he takes a deposition from the mother of a murdered teenage victim.

Her Story Theater, a company dedicated to raising awareness of the epidemic of sexual exploitation, has announced the world premiere of MONGERS - the fourth play in its cycle of dramas exposing sex trafficking practices in Chicago. Written by Her Story Theater Founder and Producing Artistic Director Mary Bonnett, and directed by John Mossman, Co-Founder of The Artistic Home, MONGERS follows a Chicago criminal defense attorney with a secret sex life who deals with his sensitive 16-year-old son's legal crisis on the day he takes a deposition from the mother of a murdered teenage sex trafficked victim. Bonnett's play uncovers the nationwide, anonymous brotherhood of men who use the Internet to find and compare notes on the women and underage girls they pay for sex. It also explores the toxicity of many of the prevailing notions of masculinity and how they contribute to an environment that allows these abuses to exist. Though the characters are composites of people Bonnett interviewed and the plot details are inspired by real-life events in Chicago. Bonnett's script includes actual posts from online chats among men engaged in this activity along with dialogue she imagined for the characters.

The Artistic Home Ensemble will present the Chicago premiere of Lauren Gunderson's ADA AND THE ENGINE as the final entry in its three-play 2018-19 season, according to company Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra, who announced the season today. The 36-year-old Gunderson was the most-produced playwright in America during 2017, according to American Theatre Magazine.

Leaders in entertainment, business, philanthropy, and the arts will gather at the 3rd Annual Big Sunday Gala on Thursday evening, March 8th to celebrate two distinguished honorees - Marta Kauffman and Kaiser Permanente.  Big Sunday, one of the USA's foremost organizations connecting people through helping and opportunities to volunteer, now in its 20th year, will host the Gala celebration at Candela, 831 South La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, California 90036 beginning at 6 PM.

New casting announced for the new National Theatre season. Full cast has been announced for Brian Friel's Translations including Colin Morgan and Ciaran Hinds, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Eric Kofi Abrefa and Thalissa Teixeira join Vanessa Kirby in the cast of Julie, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Sam Mendes directs The Lehman Trilogy, a co-production with Neal Street Productions, cast includes Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale. Full casting is announced for the award winning An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, transferring to the National Theatre in a co-production with the Orange Tree Theatre. The NT will tour to 30 venues in 27 towns and cities across the UK and Ireland, for a total of 83 playing weeks over the next year. Rufus Norris' Macbeth to tour to 18 venues across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2018. War Horse returns to the National Theatre marking the centenary of Armistice Day.

The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) and the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) tonight announced the winners of the 2018 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, videogames, news, radio/audio, promotional, and graphic animation categories at concurrent ceremonies at the Edison Ballroom in New York City and The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
