The 2022 Adelaide Festival officially opens today! With a whole host of events over the next 17 days, 2022 marks the 37th Adelaide Festival over 62 years, and the sixth festival under Artistic Directors Neil Armfield and Rachel Healy.
National Symphony Orchestra to Present Three Classical Programs

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) continues its Classical series with three subscription concert programs this April and May, including the D.C. premieres of NSO co-commissioned works by Mason Bates and Joan Tower, and a return to The Anthem venue in the Southwest Waterfront. San Diego Symphony Announces Its Winter-Spring 2022 Concert Season

The San Diego Symphony today announced its winter-spring 2022 concert season, offering 31 performances of classical and contemporary masterworks and chamber music from January 15 through May 28. Presented as “Hear Us Here,” the season will give the San Diego Symphony the opportunity to bring its music to a wider audience, with concerts performed at nine venues in the city and across the County, including the Symphony's newest venue, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.
Man Dies After Accident During Scene Change at the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia

The man who passed away, Yevgeny Kulesh, was in his late 30s, and was working as an extra in a performance of the opera 'Sadko' by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. He was crushed by a piece of scenery as a backdrop descended to the stage. The show came to an immediate halt, and the performers exited the stage while the curtains closed.

Today, September 27, a free premiere of the Metropolitan Opera’s opening night, Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones, will be streamed live in Harlem’s Marcus Garvey Park. Tomorrow, September 28, Steinway & Sons will present a free in-person five-piano concert featuring the acclaimed piano ensemble The 5 Browns in Central Park’s Naumburg Bandshell, directly adjacent to Rumsey Playfield.
