Cincinnati Ballet Kicks Off with Victoria Morgan's 20th Season

Director's Cut, Cincinnati Ballet's first series of the 2016-2017 Season, takes the stage Friday, September 16 at 8 pm and Saturday, September 17 at 2 pm and 8 pm at the Aronoff Center. The star-studded program, curated by Artistic Director & CEO Victoria Morgan, includes six short and diverse works ranging from classical to contemporary, including the world premiere of Morgan's latest ballet, Patriotic Pas, world famous New York City Ballet dancer/choreographer Justin Peck's Capricious Maneuvers, a farewell performance of Raymonda from retiring dancers Sarah Hairston and Zack Grubbs, with students from the Otto M. Budig Academy, and a world premiere from esteemed choreographer Ma Cong.

BMOP/sound Announces the Release of 'Lukas Foss: Complete Symphonies' for Upcoming 25th Anniversary Season

Known as the nation's foremost label launched by an orchestra and devoted exclusively to new music, BMOP/sound today announced the release of its 43rd recording, Lukas Foss: Complete Symphonies, led by conductor Gil Rose and performed by the intrepid Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), celebrating its 20th anniversary season in 2015-??16. A seminal contribution to the discography of 20th century American classics, this two-??disc SACD compilation is the first recording of the complete symphonies of Lukas Foss (1922-??2009). BMOP previously released Foss's cantata The Prairie (BMOP/sound #1007, 2008), set to texts of Carl Sandburg.
Transport Theatre to Launch UK Tour of THE EDGE

From 8 October to 14 November, Transport, the critically acclaimed Folkstone-based theatre company behind Invisible, 1001 Nights and Elegy will present a brand new devised production, The Edge, with original music composed by award-winning Raymond Yiu. Inspired by real life narratives taken from the south coast of England and the Sundabans in India and developed in collaboration with leading lecturer in coastal oceanography Dr Ivan Haigh, The Edge is an extensive exploration of climate change and migration. Based on an encounter between two people from different cultures that encompasses myths from the sea, the history of human migration, the formation of rivers and seas, the piece will be devised and directed by Douglas Rintoul and the creative team behind Elegy.
