New York City Ballet (NYCB) returns to the Kennedy Center for its annual engagement with two stellar repertory programs, April 2-7, in the Opera House. Along with classic works by George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, the engagement includes Kyle Abraham's recent acclaimed work The Runaway and the D.C. premieres of new works from NYCB Resident Choreographer and Soloist Justin Peck and celebrated Broadway choreographer Warren Carlyle. Performances will be accompanied by the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra.

On Sunday afternoon, February 24, 2019, at 2 pm, The Sorel Organization presents The Sorel Forward, A Celebration of Women in Music at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. The event honors the legacy and philanthropy of Claudette Sorel, the late pianist, teacher, and founder of The Elizabeth and Michel Sorel Charitable Organization, which is dedicated to expanding opportunities for women in composition, conducting, piano, voice, and film scoring.

Canadian Brass are the grand masters of the holidays, crisscrossing the globe every December, bringing their hallmark gifts of virtuosity and old-fashioned fun. On Tuesday, December 11 at 8:00pm, they come to the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya). Once again, the whispers, thunder and wonders of the Great Auditorium Pipe Organ will ring out during The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (OGCMA)'s Free Organ Recital Series, a signature part of its summer-long program of family entertainment. OGCMA's Pipe Organ is among the largest in the world and is the heart-beat of this Christian Victorian resort on the Jersey Shore. The historic 11,000-pipe instrument was built and installed in 1908 with original design innovations that became standard elements still extant in modern organ construction. It is made of over 40,000 feet of California No. 1 Sugar Pine and weighs 20-25 tons. In its illustrious 109-year history, this remarkable instrument has been played by numerous distinguished organists, including Will C. For the centenary of America's favorite musical son Leonard Bernstein, two of his much-loved works

The imaginative and increasingly important Key Pianists concert series, founded by pianist Terry Eder in 2015, embarks on its fourth season with a recital by Norman Krieger, who 'owns a world of technique' (Los Angeles Times), on Wednesday evening, October 17, 2018 at 8 pm at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. His program will include Brahms' Sonata in C Major and Beethoven's Sonata in D minor, as well as works by Chopin, Lazaroff, and Fine. On Tuesday evening, February 26, 2019 at 8 pm, pianist Jason Hardink-dubbed 'a pianist of such extraordinary power-and memory-that he is difficult to forget' by ConcertoNet's Harry Rolnick (14 Dec 2015)-will give a recital of 19th- and 20th-century gems by Eckardt, Debussy, Liszt, Xenakis, and Messiaen. To close out the season, series founder Terry Eder, noted for her 'fascinating [performances] full of life and risk' (New York Concert Review, Summer 2006), performs Schubert's Impromptu in F Minor, Op. 142, No. 1 and Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 28, as well as works by Debussy, Dohnanyi, and Kodaly.

It's not just that she's marking her 90th birthday on May 27 with a concert in New York, but that the concert is showcasing a gaggle of world premieres, US premieres and NY premieres (along with more familiar works), which highlight her rich musical vocabulary and keen sense of drama.
