Stephen DeAngelis continues his ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates with the next edition in his monthly residency of AT THIS PERFORMANCE… to be held on Monday, August 8th at The Green Room 42.

Accidental Jacket Entertainment will release the official cast recording of the Broadway revival of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, starring two-time Tony Award, Grammy Award, and Emmy Award-winning star Hugh Jackman as Professor Harold Hill and two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Marian Paroo. She discussed her pre-show ritual with Hugh Jackman, which they call 'carpet chats,' in which they sit down and talk before every performance. Foster also touched on her love of crafting and why she considers herself to be a 'pro-crocheter.'

Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund) announced that the celebrated Broadway revival of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man is adding a Special Performance on the evening of Sunday, August 28 at 8 pm ET to benefit the Fund at the Winter Garden Theatre.

MOSSO, the Musicians of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, will celebrate the music of legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim on Thursday, June 23, at 7:30 PM in Springfield Symphony Hall.

The Music Man on Broadway has announced that a limited number of standing room tickets will be available for every performance beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17. A limited number of tickets will be available for same-day purchase beginning 2 hours before performances for $76 each.

Music Man stars Sutton Foster and Hugh Jackman sat down with Seth Meyers to discuss their return to Broadway in the Music Man after the pandemic, troublesome audience members, and why they were initially intimidated to work with each other. They also praised swings and understudies, with Foster detailing her experiences working as one.

MOSSO, the Musicians of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, have announced details of their upcoming summer concerts at Symphony Hall. MOSSO will celebrate the music of Stephen Sondheim and John Williams. These concerts mark the first time in almost twenty years that the musicians of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra have performed summer concerts in Springfield.

New York Theatre Barn will host A Seat at the Table: A Panel on Understudies and Swings on April 4th, 2022 at 7:30PM EDT. The live virtual roundtable presentation will serve as a benefit for the non-profit organization that has served as an inclusive home for original culture shifting musicals since 2007.

Broadway Sessions celebrated the superheroes of Broadway as they were joined by an incredible group of Swings, Understudies & Standbys. The stellar lineup included Holly Ann Butler (Come from Away, Diana), Mateo Lizcano (Dear Evan Hansen), Lindsay Roberts Greene (Phantom of the Opera), Yael 'Ya Ya' Reich (Hadestown), Noah Marlowe The Book Of Mormon) Kathy Voytko (The Music Man) and Rising Stars Reid Burton & Caroline Geringer.

Sutton Foster appeared on the TODAY Show this morning to discuss starring on Broadway alongside Hugh Jackman in The Music Man. In the new interview, Foster also discusses returning to the role of 'Reno Sweeney' in Anything Goes, her crocheting skills, and more. Watch the full segment now!

The spotlight will be turned on swings, standbys and understudies. Cast members from several shows will perform as well as share stories of their experiences swinging and understudying. Scheduled to perform are Holly Ann Butler (Come from Away, Diana), Mateo Lizcano (Dear Evan Hansen), Lindsay Roberts Greene (Phantom of the Opera), Josh Daniels (Little Shop of Horrors), Yael ‘Ya Ya’ Reich (Hadestown) and Kathy Voytko ( The Music Man). The evening will also feature performances by up and comers Reid Burton from Rochester, New York  and Caroline Geringer from St. Louis.
