Clubbed Thumb Sets Full Schedule & Casting for 20th Annual SUMMERWORKS

Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb is proud to announce casting for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 20th season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 20th through June 29th at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: D DEB DEBBIE DEBORAH by Jerry Lieblich, directed by Lee Sunday Evans; CARD AND GIFT by Kate E. Ryan, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and MEN ON BOATS by Jaclyn Backhaus, directed by Will Davis. Ensemble Studio/Youngblood Extend FIVE TIMES IN ONE NIGHT Through 3/21

Ensemble Studio Theatre/Youngblood world premiere Five Times In One Night by Chiara Atik, directed by R.J. Tolan, has been extended for another week at Ensemble Studio Theatre, 549 West 52nd Street, with a must close date of Saturday, March 21.

The 2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Tena Stivicic for her play 3 Winters. Today, March 2, New York's Playwrights Horizons hosted a celebration of the winner and finalists of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, marking the 37th Anniversary of the international prize, which is based in Houston, New York and London. The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize is the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights.

Nick Gandiello Named 2015 P73 Playwriting Fellow

PAGE 73 has awarded Nick Gandiello the 2015 P73 Playwriting Fellowship. Gandiello, who was selected from more than 450 applicants, will receive the company's top prize, which includes a $10,000 award and additional $10,000 budgeted for developing several new plays over the course of the year. Page 73 will also produce at least one public workshop for Gandiello this year.

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has announced 12 Finalists for its prestigious playwriting award, the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights. Chosen from over 150 nominated plays, the Finalists are:

THE SUBTLE BODY Begins Next Month at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will welcome Gold No Trade with the NYC premiere of THE SUBTLE BODY, written by Megan Campisi, with a Chinese translation by Grant Zhong, and directed by Michael Leibenluft. THE SUBTLE BODY begins performances on Thursday, February 12 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 1. Press opening is Sunday, February 15 at 3:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday and Saturday at 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Please note, there is no performance on Wednesday, February 25.
