CLR (National Council of La Raza)-the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization-today announced that this year's revamped 2009 ALMA Awards® will showcase more Latino talent in more arenas than ever before. NCLR President and CEO Janet Murguía and Executive Producer Eva Longoria Parker made the announcement at a news conference at Beso Restaurant, Longoria Parker's Latin-themed restaurant in Hollywood. Among the major changes to this acclaimed show is the addition of a co-host, the actor, comedian, and talk show host George Lopez.

Acclaimed solo performer Carlo D'Amore has extended his life sentence: audiences and critics have responded with applause to his solo show No Parole, and it is now extending through January 25 at The Marsh, 1062 Valencia Street.

In this wry, energetic semiautobiographical adventure play, acclaimed actor Carlo D'Amore takes the audience on a kaleidoscopic journey through the life of a flamboyant, live-for-the-moment con artist mother, who has no trouble posing as an attorney, professor, daycare worker, or nun --- as seen through the eyes of the young son who acts as her look-out, bail, partner-in-crime, and follows her across borders, into jail, and finally to the end of the road. Arena Stage welcomes Josh Kornbluth, writer/performer of Red Diaper Baby and Love & Taxes, in his hilarious and provocative one-man show Citizen Josh. A Jonathan Reinis Production, Citizen Josh is written and performed by Kornbluth in collaboration with Arena's Associate Artistic Director David Dower.

Today Tony Taccone, artistic director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre, announced additional dates for two solo shows that he staged in Berkeley before launching them on tours across the continent. Danny Hoch's Taking Over had its world premiere at Berkeley Rep in January and hit it big in Montreal this July; next week it starts an All City Tour featuring free performances in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx in addition to previously announced dates in Manhattan and Los Angeles. Moreover, after a record-breaking run in Berkeley last winter, Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking careened through Hartford, San Jose, Santa Fe, and Washington, DC this summer; now it adds Seattle to a list of upcoming destinations that also includes Boston.

In order to complete his filming schedule on his new movie 'I Love Miami,' Jaime Camil will now join the cast of LATINOLOGUES on Broadway on Tuesday, December 6 instead of the previously announced start date of November 25. 'I Love Miami,' starring Jaime Camil, will be released in April 2006.

The four-member cast of LATINOLOGUES welcomes a fifth when ultra sexy Latin star Jaime Camil joins the company on Friday, November 25th at the Helen Hayes Theatre.

LATINOLOGUES, originally scheduled to close December 4, will now be extended through December 31 at the Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street).
