SOLD-OUT Shows Are Audience Favorites At United Solo's Tenth Anniversary
United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, is bringing together over 130 shows from all over the world for its tenth anniversary. These shows will offer audiences intimate theatre experiences highlighting the talent, unique perspectives, and storytelling prowess of participating artists. Many promising shows have captured the public's imagination, have sold out their first performances at the Festival, and may now be offered additional performances. Fourteen bestselling shows are now sold out at United Solo. Three of these SOLD-OUT shows are part of THE BEST OF category, which recognizes the greatest artistic achievements of United Solo's first decade.

ACAPPELLA, a musical about finding your own voice, conceived by Greg Cooper, with book by Vynnie Meli, music and lyrics by The Acappella Company, direction by Lee Summers and musical direction and arrangements by Evan Feist as an Invited Selection of the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival. On July 7th 1977, Emerson, Lake and Palmer performed the opening concert of a three-night stand at Madison Square Garden. The tour, in support of their new album 'Works Volume One' was famous and infamous for the massive 76-piece symphony orchestra and choir that it featured. It was also the first concert of any kind that this writer attended. No concert in nearly forty years of concert-going has left the same kind of impression.
American Composers Announce Kendall Williams as Their Van Lier Emerging Composer Fellow for 2013-2014
New York, NY – American Composers Orchestra (ACO) is pleased to announce that Kendall Williams will be the orchestra's Van Lier Emerging Composer Fellow for the 2013-2014 season. The Fellowship, established in 1999, offers a comprehensive and multi-faceted program that equips emerging composers with the full range of professional skills and tools necessary for building a successful career as a composer of orchestral music. This year's Fellow, Kendall Williams, received his B.A. in Music from Florida Memorial University and M.M. in Music Theory & Composition from NYU Steinhardt, studying with Julia Wolfe, Michael Gordon, and Rich Shemaria. His main instrument is the steel pan.
Verb Ballets to Perform at Cleveland Public Theatre's DanceWorks '13
Verb Ballets returns to Cleveland Public Theatre as part of the DanceWorks '13 Series with two different programs. Verb Ballets is pleased to announce they will kick off the series with an additional program added to the season: Verb Goes Electric with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, running March 21- 23, 2013. The company will close out the contemporary dance showcase with a modern rendition of The Rite of Spring running April 18-20, 2013. 'Verb harnesses the opportunity to create work at CPT that is adventurous and can push the boundaries of creativity. The two shows will examine the close relationship dance has to music contrasting how it has changed over the past 100 years within the development of style and its impact on contemporary dance,' said Director, Dr. Margaret Carlson.
