Pygmalion Theatre Company Presents NEAR MINT Beginning This Month


Pygmalion Theatre Company continues its 2022/23 season with the world premiere of 'Near Mint' by Utahn Lane Richins, directed by Barb Gandy, which runs from April 28 to May 13 at the Rose Wagner Center for Performing Arts located at 138 West Broadway in downtown Salt Lake City.

Town Players Of New Canaan's JOYFUL NOISE To Open This Weekend At The Powerhouse Theater At Waveny Park


The Town Players of New Canaan will present their third production of the 2022-23 season, JOYFUL NOISE, written by Tim Slover and directed by Nancy L. Mayer. The producer is Deborah Burke. The production will run November 18 to December 4 at the Powerhouse Theater at Waveny Park.

Play On Shakespeare Announces Actors And Directors For PLAY ON!


Play On Shakespeare today announces an expansive list of compelling actors and dynamic directors confirmed to participate in the Play on! Festival, presented in association with Classic Stage Company (CSC) and Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF). Play on! features 39 readings of new, work-in-progress translations of Shakespeare's plays into contemporary modern English by some of today's most exciting playwrights-May 29-June 30 at the Lynn F. Angelson Theater at CSC (136 E. 13th Street). In 2015, Oregon Shakespeare Festival launched an ambitious 39-play, three-year commissioning project, Play on!, tasking 36 playwrights-more than half of whom were women and playwrights of color, each paired with a dramaturg-to translate Shakespeare's canon in celebration of the enduring impact of the Bard's work. Supported by a generous grant from the Hitz Foundation and inspired by long-time patron Dave Hitz's passion for Shakespeare, the project was and continues to be led by Lue Morgan Douthit. The play Joyful Noise opens in the Brinton Black Box Theater at the Covey Center today, Dec. 4. This play, by Utah playwright Tim Slover, provides the perfect companion to the traditional holiday favorite, Handel's 'Messiah.' Fulton Theatre Annouces New Emerging Writers Series in Honor of Ellen A. Groff


A year following the death of beloved Fulton Theatre Trustee EmeritusEllen Arnold Groff, Fulton Theatre announces the creation of a new performance series in her honor. The Ellen Groff Studio Series will be an annual collection of performances taking place in the theatre's 4th floor studio theatre. The focus of the series will be emerging writers, new work, and challenging topics that were central to Mrs. Groff's love of the theatre art form. Marc Robin, the Fulton's Artistic Director commented, 'Ellen and I spent countless hours talking about what motivates us as artists. She loved the intellectual challenge of new work, under-represented ideas, and theatre that got your blood pumping. And she always wanted to see the 4th floor space developed in a way that built a regular audience that wanted to share her artistic tastes.'
