REWRITES - the showcase for new musicals started by The Lowry, Salford in 2017 is expanding next year by linking up with three new partner venues - Birmingham Hippodrome, MAST Mayflower Studios and Norwich Theatre - to create a new twice-annual touring platform for new musicals in development, starting with Sheep Soup's new work Nel's Place.

The King’s Head Theatre charity has announced they will be closing their home of 53 years on 13 August 2023, and moving into a custom-built new theatre immediately behind the existing venue in Islington Square, with an opening date and programme to be announced.

Tania's season, with performances from 6 June - 31 July, features the best and brightest new LGBTQ+ musical theatre.

Leading Broadway and West End musical theatre actors Lena Hall and Oliver Tompsett are to star in the new musical In Dreams, written by Emmy and Golden Globe-winning and Olivier Award-nominated David West Read (Writer and Executive Producer Schitt’s Creek, Author & Juliet) which will premiere at Leeds Playhouse from 3 July – 5 August.

Rehearsals started this week at York Theatre Royal for the world premiere production of Gus Gowland's new musical Mayflies, which runs from April 28 to May 13.
