Chicago's Raven Theatre Company has announced the cast and production team for the final show of its 41st season, THE PRODIGAL DAUGHTER.

Griffin Theatre Company has announced casting for its Midwest premiere of Marys Seacole by Pulitzer Prize winner Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed by Jerrell L. Henderson and Hannah Todd. Launching Griffin’s 33rd season, Marys Seacole will play October 1 – November 6, 2022 on Raven Theatre’s Schwartz Stage.

Steep Theatre's second summer production is the US premiere of Tony Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens' Light Falls set to open July 8th. Stephens, Steep's Associate Playwright, will make his fifth production with Ensemble Member Robin Witt once again serving as director. Midsommer Flight, a company that has been presenting high quality, accessible productions of Shakespeare’s plays in Chicago’s parks since 2012, today announced a series of three virtual panel discussions addressing some of the theatre industry’s most challenging topics, to be held on three successive Tuesdays in February 2021.

As the coronavirus crisis has continued to escalate, Producing Artistic Director Beth Wolf and the entire Midsommer Flight Board of Directors in consultation have determined to postpone the Directors Flight workshop performance of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING indefinitely.

Midsommer Flight has announced the five theater professionals who will participate in the inaugural session of the company's new 'Directors Flight' initiative. Announced in fall 2019, Directors Flight is a program with the goal of promoting, cultivating, and inspiring classical directing talent in Chicago. The announcement last fall included a call for applications to participate. Instead of a tuition-based model, Midsommer Flight has opted to pay each selected director a small fellowship stipend for their participation.

Make History.," consisting of two full productions and three developing scripts as part of the Fighting Words Festival 2020, all reflecting how women take ownership of their circumstances and how they manage to prevail.

Otherworld Theatre Company announced Jacob Bates, Michael Bullaro, Bryce Fields, Lauren N. Fields, Stephanie Mattos, and Nathan Randall Miller will join the company as new artistic associates. Midsommer Flight's seventh summer of free Shakespeare performances as an Arts Partner in Chicago Park District parks began on Saturday, July 7 in Lincoln Park with THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA. The company's production of Shakespeare's comedy will play two weekends each in four different Chicago parks - through Sunday August 26. The next venue for THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA will be Gross Park, 2708 W. Lawrence Ave., where it will play July 14 and 15 and 21 and 22. See complete schedule in 'Listing Information' section below.
