The National Theatre and Wales Millenium Centre have announced the full cast for Nye as the company begins rehearsals. Tim Price's (Teh Internet is Serious Business) new play directed by Rufus Norris (Small Island), charts the life of Aneurin 'Nye' Bevan and his battle to create the NHS. Michael Sheen is cast as Nye in this co-production between the National Theatre and Wales Millennium Centre.

The National Theatre has announced two new productions, Roald Dahl's The Witches, in a co-production with the Roald Dahl Story Company, and The Effect, in association with The Jamie Lloyd Company.

100,000 new tickets have been released for the final booking period of the West End production of Life of Pi. Nuwan Hugh Perera, who is currently the alternate Pi, will take over the title role on 7 September 2022 with Chirag Benedict Lobo joining the cast as the new alternate Pi.

Following its triumphant West End opening at Wyndham's Theatre last week, producer Simon Friend today announced that public booking for Life of Pi, Lolita Chakrabarti's dazzling stage adaptation of Yann Martel's award-winning book, has been extended until 29 May 2022 with the release of 70,000 new tickets. 

Lolita Chakrabarti’s adaptation of Yann Martel’s Booker prize-winning novel Life of Pi received rave reviews when it debuted at Sheffield’s Crucible theatre back in 2019. The pandemic delayed the West End run, but it has now finally opened at the Wyndham’s theatre and goodness, it was worth the wait!

The highly anticipated West End premiere of Life of Pi, Lolita Chakrabarti’s dazzling stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s award-winning book has roared into the West End. 

Hiran Abeysekera makes a welcome return to the show in the central role of Pi, alongside Mina Anwar as Ma, Nicholas Khan as Father, Payal Mistry as Rani, Tom Espiner as Father Martin and Commmander Grant-Jones, Raj Ghatak as Mamaji and Pandit-Ji, Syreeta Kumar as Mrs Biology Kumar and Zaida Khan, David K.S. Tse as Mr Okamoto, Kirsten Foster as Lulu Chen, Habib Nasib Nader as Cook and Voice of Tiger.

Tara Theatre has announced casting for 2020, 12 new stories from 12 writers (3 international and 9 from across England) responding to the challenges of 2020 and 2021, but from a completely local perspective. 2020 features in Abdul Shayek's first programme as Artistic Director for the newly rebranded Tara Theatre.

First performed at the Kiln Theatre in 2019, and now available to stream digitally on the Tamasha Theatre Company YouTube channel, Approaching Empty is a play about friendship, community and the immigrant experience in Britain. It's set in a minicab office in the North of England, in the wake of Margaret Thatchera??s death.

Supported by the actors' union Equity, #NHSLove is an initiative launched by Tamasha theatre company to boost the morale of frontline NHS staff during the coronavirus crisis. Through Twitter and one hashtag, the aim is to send messages of LOVE to them via content they can dip into, whenever they can.

Alice Sebold made a literary splash with her heart-rending 2002 novel The Lovely Bones. The story follows 14 year-old Susie Salmon, raped and murdered, who now views earth from her vantage point in heaven. Here she witnesses how her family, friends and her killer cope with her death and try to live life without her. Directed by the talented Melly Still, a breathtaking stage adaptation is now on a national tour.

Following a hugely successful run last autumn, Birmingham Repertory Theatre in association with Lee Dean present a tour of The Lovely Bones. Melly Still directs Catrin Aaron (Abigail Salmon), Radhika Aggarwal (Heavenly Girl 2), Fanta Barrie (Lindsay Salmon), Charlotte Beaumont (Susie Salmon), Samuel Gosrani (Ray/Holliday), Leah Haile (Heavenly Girl 1), Avita Jay (Franny/Ruana), Andrew Joshi (Heavenly Girl 3), Nicholas Khan (Mr Harvey), Leigh Lothian (Ruth Connors), Huw Parmenter (Sam/Len), Lynda Rooke (Lyn),  and Jack Sandle (Jack Salmon). Following the success of his 2016 World War I drama Wipers, award-winning playwright Ishy Din returns to the Belgrade Theatre this March with a brand new show about working class lives in post-industrial North East England.

Tamasha, Kiln and Live Theatre will present a Scottish premiere of Approaching Empty as part of our spring season, written by award-winning playwright Ishy Din and directed by Pooja Ghai (Associate Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East 2015-2018).
