THE PLASTIC BAG STORE Set to Open in Ann Arbor


A grocery store with products made entirely of plastic bags is coming to Ann Arbor's prominent 777 building (South State and East Eisenhower Parkway), turning the unoccupied first-floor space into a colorful installation that slyly doubles as an eco-warning. 

The Rep Names Danny Williams as its New Managing Director


The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis has announced Danny Williams as its new Managing Director, effective January 10, 2022. He will replace Mark Bernstein, who is retiring after serving more than 34 years in the position. Williams comes to The Rep from New York, where he most recently served as Senior Director, Finance and Administration for The Public Theater.

With music by Lucy Simon, The Secret Garden is based on the 1911 classic children's literature novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. And while it's tagged as a?oechildren'sa?? literature, The Secret Garden is not your typical light-hearted, happy-go-lucky matinee outing for the kids.

The Rep Raises $1 Million for the Steve Woolf Studio Series


Steve Woolf's legacy at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis will live on, thanks to a successful $1 million endowment campaign. The funds will support programming in The Rep's Emerson Studio Theatre, ensuring that the theatre will continue to produce cutting-edge work in its intimate, black box-style space. The Studio season will go by a new name: the Steve Woolf Studio Series.

The Rep Earns $1.5 Million In Single Ticket Revenue From Its Latest Season


The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis made a tremendous sales splash with its 2018-2019 season, sending retiring artistic director Steven Woolf out on a high note with more than $1.5 million in single ticket sales. That number includes ticket sales from the theatre's six Mainstage and three Studio productions. This is the third straight season in which The Rep has topped the $1 million mark in single ticket sales. 

UMS To Present Alec Baldwin In Dramatic Reading Of Arthur Miller's DEATH OF A SALESMAN


The University Musical Society (UMS) will present a dramatic reading of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, featuring stage and screen actor Alec Baldwin in the lead role of Willy Loman on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 8 pm in Ann Abor's Power Center (121 Fletcher St). Baldwin will perform alongside student and faculty actors and directors from the University of Michigan's Department of Theatre & Drama. The reading will mark Baldwin's first time in the role. The performance is currently sold out, but those interested in attending can call the UMS Ticket Office at 734.764.2538 to ask to be put on an interest list.

The Rep Appoints Hana S. Sharif Artistic Director


The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis is proud to announce Hana S. Sharif as its new artistic director. Currently the associate artistic director at Baltimore Center Stage, Sharif will take over as The Rep's next artistic leader following Steven Woolf's retirement at the end of the 2018-2019 season. Sharif will hold the title of Augustin Family Artistic Director.

The Rep Tops $1 Million In Single Ticket Revenue For The Second Straight Season


The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis' recently concluded 2017-2018 season generated more than $1 million in single ticket revenue. The nonprofit theatre's six Mainstage and three Studio productions sold a combined $1.14 million in single tickets, which is in addition to revenue from Mainstage and Studio subscribers. Total ticket revenue for The Rep's 2017-2018 season exceeded $4.7 million.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis has received a planned gift commitment of $100,000 from Glenda Hares, a local artist from Kirkwood, Missouri, who has been involved with The Rep for more than forty years.
