Capital Repertory Theatre will open its 2023/24 season with “What the Constitution Means to Me,” Heidi Schreck’s personal and timely exploration of how the U.S. Constitution shaped her life and the women around her.

Producing Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven and the WAM Theatre team has announced an exciting ensemble of actors who are performing in the upcoming 2023 Fresh Takes Play Reading Series. The roster features a diverse array of talented performers. For all but one, Fresh Takes 2023 marks their WAM debut. 

WTFringe Lab will present ADULTS a play by Maizy Broderick Scarpa and directed by Giselle Durand, Natalie Payán, Paloma Sierra, and Yaizta JZ Marrero.

Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) and WAM Theatre have announced the addition of two extra performances of their co-production, What the Constitution Means to Me. Due to overwhelming demand and the incredible response from audiences, these additional shows will take place on Sunday, May 28 at 7pm, Tuesday, May 30 at 7pm and Sunday, June 4 at 2pm at the Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, MA.

The series includes three new plays to be performed on three consecutive Sundays in July at The Mount in Lenox. The Fresh Takes Reading Series includes three groundbreaking stories: hollow roots by Christina Anderson, Port of Entry by Talya Kingston, and In Her Bones by Jessica Kahkoska.

Berkshire Theatre Group has announced a portion of BTG’s 2023 Summer Season. The Early Summer 2023 Season will include contact, a four-time Tony Award-winning dance musical; What The Constitution Means To Me, a boundary-breaking play co-produced with WAM Theatre, and more.

WAM Theatre's 2023 Season will open with the Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-nominated play What the Constitution Means to Me by Heidi Schreck (Grand Concourse, There Are No More Big Secrets, The Consultant), directed by WAM’s Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven, and co-produced by Berkshire Theatre Group.

Equity starts with arts and culture workers being able to support themselves and their families. Passion is not a substitute for livable wages. But it is a common tale told by nonprofit employers, and employees too, as they try to make ends meet doing what they love.

WAM Theatre will present Cadillac Crew by Tori Sampson (If Pretty Hurts Ugly Must be a Muhf**ka, Playwrights Horizons; This Land Was Made), directed by taneisha duggan (Jesus Hopped the “A” Train, University of Hartford; Blue Door, Juilliard), featuring returning WAM actors Cate Alston, MaConnia Chesser,  and Alicia M.P. Nelson; and debuting Kyra Davis on the WAM stage.
