It's the best musical night out of the season! Central City Opera hosts the annual Theatre of Dreams Gala on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the stunning Hangar at Stanley Marketplace in Aurora. The romantic comedy/drama, THIN SLICING, will have its second New York City production at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre Best of 2018 Play Showcase. The limited run will play December 14 and 15 in midtown Manhattan.

WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Scott Carter's The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord, directed by Emily Scott Banks. Discord will run April 14-May 7, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast features Ian Ferguson as Thomas Jefferson, John-Michael Marrs as Charles Dickens, and Jeremy Schwartz as Count Leo Tolstoy.

Undermain Theatre presents GALILEO, Bertolt Brecht's masterpiece, which he translated in English in collaboration with Charles Laughton.  GALILEO will be produced at Undermain's home in Deep Ellum - 3200 Main St. with company member Bruce DuBose in the title role.  DuBose is a recipient of Best Actor awards from the Dallas Critics Forum, D Magazine and the Dallas Observer.  Directed by Undermain's Artistic Director, Katherine Owens, opening night will be Today, February 11th with a curtain time of 7:30 pm.  Preview performances will be on February 8th, 9th, and 10th at 7:30 pm. All preview performances are only $15. All evening show times are 7:30 pm with two Sunday matinee performances at 2:00 pm on February 19th and March 5th.  The production will run through March 5th.

Amphibian Stage Productions (Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director) today announced casting for its third main stage production of the 2015 season, The Quixotic Days and Errant Nights of the Knight Errant Don Quixote by Brenda Withers. This world premiere play will run Thursday July 9 through Sunday August 2 at Amphibian's Berlene T. & Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre.  The play will feature actors Steph Garrett, Nathan Smith, Ivan Jasso, Christie Vela, Bob Hess, John Forkner, and Jeremy Schwartz. Matthew Earnest will direct the production.

Second Thought Theatre Artistic Director Alex Organ announced today the complete details for Bull, the dark comedy by British playwright Mike Bartlett. Christie Vela is making her STT directorial debut with Bull, which is part of the Elevator Project at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Bull begins with a preview performance on Thursday, February 26 and runs through Saturday, March 14. In today's world, marriage is an optional life choice for couples versus previous generations where it was expected that adults would marry, procreate children, grow old, and eventually die having completed their primary life's function. Even though those family structures may have included outside children born out of wedlock by a husband committing adultery, children and their mothers who were either ignored or treated like they didn't exist, the primary family unit remained intact. In Melissa Ross's "Thinner than Water," currently in production at Kitchen Dog Theater, you realize despite advancements we have made as a global society in a number of areas, this component of the human condition is still alive and well.
