January 2022 Programming Announced at the TSO: Music to Ring In the New Year


The Toronto Symphony Orchestra rings in the new year with a range of musical experiences from the classical precision of Bach and the romance of Wagner and Mendelssohn, to the jazz stylings of the great “Satchmo”—Louis Armstrong. Contemporary works by the world's best composers, including TSO Spotlight Artist Samy Moussa, and Music Director Gustavo Gimeno makes his return to the podium with Beethoven's Second.

Toronto Symphony Orchestra Single Tickets On Sale September 16 for Concerts in First Half of Season


Single tickets to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's previously announced 2021/22 season will go on sale September 16, for concerts through to February 2022. Single tickets for the remainder of the season will go on sale at a later date when there are updated capacity limits during the winter/spring months. The first half of the season will feature shorter concerts with no intermission and works selected for smaller ensembles to allow for distance on stage.

Toronto Symphony Orchestra Announces 2021/22 Season


The long-awaited reunion between the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and its patrons is scheduled for November 10, 2021, with 30 dynamic programs running through June of 2022. The return to live performances will be defined by the leadership of Music Director Gustavo Gimeno, who will mark his first complete season on the podium, conducting 11 subscription programs.

Soundstreams to Close 2014-15 Season with Latin Music Tribute


Soundstreams concludes its 2014/2015 season with an electrifying afternoon of Latin music in tribute to the 2015 Pan American/Parapan American Games. Artistic Director Lawrence Cherney has assembled an all-star ensemble of world-renowned musicians, including guitar virtuosos Grisha Goryachev and Fabio Zanon, Argentinian bandoneon player Hector Del Curto, Colombian singer Maria Mulata, Canadian pianist and composer Serouj Kradjian, emerging percussionist Sarah Thawer, and Canadian bassist Jeffrey Beecher. From September 3 through September 11, 2014, the critically acclaimed Silk Road Ensemble will travel to Europe for a concert tour with renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, bringing their unique border-crossing musical experience to audiences in Izmir and Istanbul, Turkey; Paris; Amsterdam; and Luxembourg. Jaime Laredo to Celebrate 20th New York String Orchestra Anniversary with Concerts at Carnegie Hall, 12/24 & 28


The New York String Orchestra, an ensemble of young players ages 16–23 from around the world, who come together each year for a seminar of rehearsals and performance preparation, celebrates the 20th anniversary of its Music Director Jaime Laredo with two annual concerts in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. In addition, the New York String Orchestra Seminar celebrates its 45th anniversary.
