Kent State University Orchestra And Combined Choirs Brings Together Nearly 200 Musicians May 5


The Kent State University Orchestra and Combined Choirs join together to conclude the School of Music's 2018-19 concert season on Sun., May 5 at 3 p.m. in Cartwright Hall's University Auditorium. This annual audience favorite brings together nearly 200 musicians from the Kent State University Orchestra, Kent Chorus, Kent Chorale, and Men's and Women's Choruses. Conductors include Dr. Jungho Kim, Director of Orchestra, and Dr. Scott MacPherson, Director of Choral Studies.

Kent State University Opera presents Aaron Copland's quintessentially American Opera 'The Tender Land' on Fri., March 15 and Sat., March 16 at 7:30 p.m., and Sun., March 17 at 3 p.m. The cast will be joined by the Kent State University Orchestra in this fully staged production performed in English in Ludwig Recital Hall. The artistic and production team includes Marla Berg, director; Jay White, music director; and Jungho Kim, conductor. Set and lighting design provided by Marcus Dana. Ludwig Recital Hall is at 1325 Theatre Drive in the Center for the Performing Arts. Ample free and handicap accessible parking is available.

Kent State University Orchestra To Feature Winners Of The Annual Concerto Competition


The Kent State University Orchestra presents its fourth subscription series concert of the 2018-2019 season on Sun., Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. in the University Auditorium at Cartwright Hall. Joining the orchestra are the student winners of the annual concerto competition: Heather Morrison, undergraduate soprano, and Vicky Hei Man Tong, graduate pianist. Cartwright Hall is at 650 Hilltop Drive in Kent, Ohio. Free parking is available off of Terrace Drive. Advance tickets are available online, in-person and over the phone through the Performing Arts Box Office.
