Chandler Hubbard's ANIMAL CONTROL Firehouse Theatre is pleased to announce that it will remount Chandler Hubbard's new play ANIMAL CONTROL for nine performances from July 3 thru July 27, 2019.
Richmond audiences should not pass up the opportunity to see a world premiere of a new play written by a local actor and playwright. Richmond, Virginia's Firehouse Theatre, a theatre known for producing new and groundbreaking plays, is currently producing the world premiere of Chandler Hubbard's intense drama, ANIMAL CONTROL. Fifth Wall, another regional theatre in Richmond, initially held a reading of the play. The script, written by University of Virginia graduate and local playwright/actor Hubbard, has a clear message that's relevant to today's contentious sociopolitical landscape. The writer wants audiences to examine their own lives and the lives of others more closely to find similarities that connect us rather than differences that divide us.
ANIMAL CONTROL begins as Kim Hawkins is trying to get settled in her new job as manager of Carson County Pound when she has to cope with the mounting fallout from a complaint about a pit bull terrorizing a dog park.

In theatre, we often see the physical world thrown out of balance. RUSTBELT:1984, written by Damon W. Arrington (Broadway Assistant Director, Award Winning Off Broadway Director/Producer) and being presented as a staged reading by Fifth Wall Theatre at Richmond's historic Hofheimer Building, is no exception. RUSTBELT: 1984 is the first installation in a series of three plays using the visceral world of the theatre to shake up social consciousness regarding water quality and policy.
