For the next three weeks until April 14th, you can catch Detroit native Lydia R. Diamond's play Stick Fly at Meadow Brook Theatre in Rochester Hills. Having played on Broadway from November 2011 to February 2012, Stick Fly comes to Detroit with a talented cast, fascinating production design, and intriguing direction choices courtesy of Washington College professor Benjamin Sterling Cannon.

The LeVays are gathering at their Martha's Vineyard home for the weekend, and brothers Kent and Flip have each brought their respective ladies home to meet the parents for the first time. As the two newcomers butt heads over issues of race and privilege, long-standing tensions bubble under the surface and reach a boiling point when secrets are revealed.

The compelling and entertaining Civil War comedic-drama 'Butler' is now onstage at 59E59 Theatre through August 28th. This superb play is written by Richard Stand, directed by Joseph Discher and presented by New Jersey Repertory Company.

New Jersey Repertory Company presents the World Premiere of Butler by Richard Strand, directed by Joseph Discher and starring Ames Adamson, David Sitler, Benjamin Sterling and John G. Williams. Butler is a recipient of a prestigious Edgerton Foundation New American Plays Award and is based on real life events that changed the lives of more than 10,000 slaves.

'Butler,' the World Premiere play by Richard W. Strand will be on stage at New Jersey Repertory Company in Long Branch from June 12th through July 13th. BWW had an opportunity to interview playwright Richard W. Strand.
