The sold-out audience in West Palm Beach, Florida, was treated to an inspiring evening, highlighting everything that puts the “Great” in the Great American Songbook.

“Direct from Carnegie Hall…..”  that oft used introduction was never more accurately applied then it was last night for Marilyn Maye as she was presented by Legends Radio at it’s Benefactors Gala Celebrating “Legendary Ladies”.

In a time when the people that live on our planet can’t seem to agree on anything, being in a room where everyone was on the same page celebrating the importance and brilliance of American Popular Music and honoring some of it’s most talented artists was truly a joy.

The evening was graciously hosted by Sydell Miller at her incredible home, La Reverie. Hearing Mrs. Miller address those in attendance and sharing the history of the home was a special experience.

The Actors Fund, a national human services organization that has served all professionals in the entertainment industry since 1882, today announced that it will honor Palm Beach cultural philanthropist Anka Palitz, along with Ethan Stiefel, principal guest instructor at American Ballet Theatre, and ABT principal dancer Gillian Murphy, at the 10th anniversary Heart & Soul Gala. Not only was Ethan Stiefel the first individual dancer supported by Mrs. Palitz, he and fellow honoree Gillian Murphy are married and expecting their first child.

This year's event will honor legendary actress and singer Diahann Carroll and entrepreneur Don Peebles, as well as recognize three lifetime members of the Mission Society's Board of Directors. Co-chaired by Jean Shafiroff and Katrina Peebles, the benefit will support the Mission Society's programs and services that help youth and families in our city's most underserved communities break the cycle of poverty and achieve success.

On Tuesday, January 24, philanthropist Jean Shafiroff brought together several dozen supporters of the New York City Mission Society to begin planning for the annual Champions for Children Gala. Jean Shafiroff will again chair the benefit, which will be held on April 5 at the Mandarin Hotel.

Jean Shafiroff recently hosted a cocktail party at her Park Avenue home to celebrate the announcement of Southampton Hospital's The Phillips Family Cancer Center.

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) will host its Annual Gala on Saturday, June 4 at its theater tent on the grounds of Boscobel House & Gardens in Garrison, New York.

On Wednesday May 3rd, The American Heart Association's 20th Annual Heart of the Hamptons Ball began celebrations with a kick-off party in New York City. The gala will take place on June 25th at the Hayground School in Bridgehampton.
