Death Becomes Her begins its performances for its pre-Broadway tryout in Chicago tonight. Is anyone going or planning to make the trip to see it?
I have a ticket for the matinee on June 1st, and really hope this ends up being at least decent. The last two tryout musicals I saw in Chicago (Paradise Square and The Devil Wears Prada) weren't exactly the best. Regardless, I always enjoy making the trip to Chicago when I can't make it to NY.
Also, I'm planning to grab dinner near the Cadillac Palace Theatre after the show. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. There seems to be a lot of choices nearby, and I'm having a hard time deciding. Don't want anything too fancy or expensive, just a great place for a post-show night out.
That's a tough question to answer, and I'm not exactly an expert. I live in Morton Grove just north of Chicago's Edison Park area. My partner and I frequently drive to downtown Chicago to see the pre-Broadway shows. We have tickets for Death Becomes Her on May 21st.
Most of the restaurants near the Cadillac Palace close by 10:00 PM on a Saturday night. Your best bet would be to walk (or take an Uber) about a mile and a half west by northwest to the Fulton Market area. All the restaurants there stay open quite late on the weekends. When we are seeing a show, I actually park my car just north of Fulton Market and then walk to the theaters like the Goodman, Nederlander, and Cadillac Palace. It's about 30 minutes away on foot.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.
