Tickets for the eighth annual NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS will go on sale Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 10:00AM. Tickets can be purchased by visiting NHSMTA.COM or TICKETMASTER.COM and range from $39 to $89. Premium seats are $250. The awards ceremony will take place on Monday, June 27th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan.

Popejoy Awards to Honor Best of New Mexico's High School Students, 5/8

The first annual Popejoy Awards ceremony and performance will be held on Sunday, May 8 at 6:30 PM. The Awards will showcase the best of New Mexico's high school musical theater talent performing selections from the American musical theater canon. The Tony Awards-style show features acting, production, and direction awards for high school productions and performers.

8th Annual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards Are Announced!

ArtsBridge Foundation, the arts education outreach arm of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, today announced the nominees for the 8th Annual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards in a live streaming broadcast on GPB.org. Tony Award-winner and Marietta-native Shuler Hensley joined GPB Sports Anchor Jackie Brittan to announce the nominations. 28 public and private schools from throughout the state were nominated in 17 categories. The awards, which showcase the next generation of Georgia's musical theatre talent, will be presented at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on April 21. GPB will air the show live on its nine-station statewide television network.

Broadway/San Diego Announces the 2016 Ben Vereen Awards Competition, 5/29

Broadway/San Diego has announced the 2016 Ben Vereen Awards®, a San Diego high school musical theatre competition on May 29th in which twenty nominated San Diego County High School Students will compete - ultimately sending two talented students to The National High School Musical Theatre Awards® in New York this June. The San Diego Ben Vereen Awards® is sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union® and this year, 24 San Diego County high schools are participating with 26 performances being adjudicated between the Fall and Spring semesters.

Popejoy Awards to Select Two High School Winners for the National High School Musical Theater Awards in NYC, 5/8

Popejoy Hall's latest initiative, the Popejoy Awards, celebrates the best of high school musical theater productions and performances throughout New Mexico. Affiliated with the National High School Musical Theater Awards, the event offers awards to state high school drama programs for Best Direction, Best Production, and Best Ensemble, as well as individual acting awards. The two individual winners for Best Actor and Actress will be sent to New York City, all expenses paid, to work with Broadway coaches and talent and compete for national awards. 

TUTS Announces Nominees for 14th Annual Tommy Tune Awards, 4/19

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is excited to announce the nominations and presenters for TUTS' 14th annual Tommy Tune Awards, which will be held on April 19 at 7:30 p.m. at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The Tommy Tune Awards recognize and reward excellence in the production of musical theatre by high school students and their teachers. Co-hosts for this year's awards ceremony include Sarah Pepper and Jim Bernhard. Pepper is a host on Hot 95.7. Bernhard has written several original productions that have debuted at TUTS and authored the organization's theatrical history book, "Stars In Your Eyes".

ArtsBridge Foundation, the arts education outreach arm of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, today announced the 96 actors and actresses who will perform in the Shuler Student Ensemble at the 2016 Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards. Additionally, the organization revealed the 32 members of its 2016 S.T.A.R (Students Take A Role) Council who will serve as production assistants for the April 21 awards show that celebrates excellence in high school musical theater.

In this episode, Salinger describes one of the most profound experiences of his trip - going all the way to New York to meet one of Colorado's most successful theatrical alums: Kent Gash, Director of the New Studio on Broadway at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (and graduate of Denver's George Washington High School). 'He gave us an amazing talk, and I recorded much of it on my phone,' Salinger said. 'I just want to listen to it again and again and write some of the things that he said down because it was so inspirational.'
