Miles J. Sternfeld is in a big rush for theatrical success. The 23-year old, who graduated from Orange in 2013, is not the regular theatre nerd. He's not interested in being the next big star. Instead, he has set his sights on being a successful producer and director.
A cast of 18 students from nine high schools in three counties opened GODSPELL at the Croswell Opera House on Jan. 27. The show, which takes the 1970s musical and updates it with modern references and settings, is directed by Michael Yuen, a local educator who played John the Baptist and Judas in the 2000-2001 national tour of the show. According to Yuen, updating the show to the time in which it is being performed is in step with how the authors meant for it to evolve.

Kathleen Marshall is one of Broadway's most celebrated artists. Honored numerous times for her work on stage and screen, she has won three Tony Awards (with six more nominations) and two Drama Desk Awards (four additional nominations). Marshall has also been nominated for both an Olivier and an Emmy. The MAMA MIA! production at the Hollywood Bowl marks her Los Angeles debut as a director/choreographer, and I recently was fortunate to speak with her, and stars Corbin Bleu and Lea DeLaria, about their excitement being involved in the musical extravaganza.
