Last week, PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL began its run in Vancouver. Presented by Broadway Across Canada, the show played at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre from March 29th to April 2nd. With its beloved story, upbeat music, and enthusiastic cast, PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL made audiences fall in love again.

On a mission to make ice cream less vanilla, Humphry Slocombe— the chef-driven ice creamery known for unexpected flavors—announced the opening of its newest scoop shop at The Pruneyard Shopping Center (1875 South Bascom Ave, Suite 370) in Campbell, CA. To celebrate the opening, Humphry Slocombe has partnered with Broadway San Jose on a limited edition flavor, “Champagne & Strawberries,” inspired by Pretty Woman: The Musical, making its Northern California premiere at San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts from March 21–26, 2023.

Pretty Woman is stoppin’ awhile at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts. Pretty Woman is based on the popular 1990 movie of the same name. Jacksonville audiences were completely nostalgic for the musical. Audience members could be heard making comments like “it’s the same dress!” or “look at them at the opera!” during the show.

Broadway San Jose, a Nederlander Presentation, will present the San Francisco Bay Area premiere of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL at San Jose’s Center for the Performing Arts beginning Tuesday, March 21 and running through Sunday, March 26, 2023.

From December 13th to 18th, you won't want to be anywhere other than Wharton Center while the national tour of Pretty Woman: The Musical makes its East Lansing debut.

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL, based on one of Hollywood’s most beloved romantic stories of all time, is coming to Wharton Center Tuesday, December 13 — Sunday, December 18, 2022! 

Prior to this week’s arrival of the film-inspired musical PRETTY WOMAN to Proctors, I spoke with Adam Pascal, who previously played the role of Edward on Broadway, and is currently playing the role again on tour. His career includes some memorable movie and theater credits, including the distinguished role of Roger in the Broadway and cinema favorite, RENT.

The producers of the PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL announced today that single tickets for the upcoming tour engagement at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall at FSW will go on sale Friday, November 11 at 10AM. The production will run from February 21, 2023, to February 26, 2023.

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL will make its Houston debut as part of the Memorial Hermann Broadway at the Hobby Center 2022-23 Season. PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL will play the Hobby Center January 3–8, 2023. Tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday, October 7 at 10am.

The first national tour of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL will welcome newcomer Jessie Davidson, who will step into the leading role of Vivian Ward beginning the week of October 10 in Memphis, TN.

The producers of the first national tour of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL have announced that the touring production has recouped its $4.7 million investment after 39 weeks on the road. The Equity tour, which launched in October 2021 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI, will continue through May 7, 2023 with the final scheduled engagement in Sacramento, CA.

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL has announced the extension of the tour through May 7, 2023, with the final scheduled engagement taking place in Sacramento, CA. The Equity tour, which launched in October 2021 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI, will have played 61 cities across North America by the end of its run.

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL is coming to Segerstrom Center for a limited two-week engagement from July 5 to July 17.

Read our critic's review: When the film “Pretty Woman” first came out, its narrative didn’t feel as tired. The Cinderella story of sorts follows prostitute Vivian Ward who wealthy businessman Edward Lewis hires to be his escort to business functions for a week. In 2022, with a modern audience, it’s harder to sell that romance, and the gender politics are harder to stomach.

An illustrious creative team is at the helm of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL, with direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award®-winner Jerry Mitchell, music and lyrics by Grammy®-winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and book by the movie's legendary director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J. F. Lawton.  But is that enough to make this stage adaptation successful?  That depends.

Due to breakthrough COVID-19 cases in the touring production of Pretty Woman: The Musical, all performances through December 19, 2021, at the CIBC Theatre, have been cancelled.

The Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center has announced single tickets for PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com. The show runs for eight performances Tuesday, April 5 – Sunday, April 10, 2022.
