Deserted Films returns to the Historic Camelot Theatre (at the Palm Springs Cultural Center) Jan 21 - Feb 25 for a fun, winter-themed film series on the big screen culminating in a special screening of Dr. Zhivago (1965)… the first film to screen at the Camelot when it opened!

In a time where bullying is national crisis, leading to children as young as nine years old taking their own lives, Innovocative Theatre's production The Hundred Dresses is opening at Stageworks Theatre on August 4. Sadly, this play is as timely today as when Eleanor Estes wrote the book in 1944. Set during the Great Depression in 1938, The Hundred Dresses is a play by based on the true experiences of the book author about a poor Polish girl named Wanda Petronski who is bullied by her classmates because she is different.

World-renowned illustrator and author, Guy Gilchrist (best known for the creation and work on Jim Henson's 'Muppets' comic strip and the cartoonist and writer of 'Nancy' for over 22 years) has released two country music singles on WROX Records: 'I Don't Need You' and 'Heart of the Night,' the title track to the soon-to-be released album, due later this year. Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, continued its 11th Season with George Bernard Shaw's GENEVA. Written and first produced in 1938, Geneva is a wildly satirical political comedy. In it, a German Jew arrives in Geneva demanding a summit meeting designed to contain the increasingly dangerous behavior of three dictators, Herr Battler, Signor Bombardone, and General Flanco (parodies of Hitler, Mussolini and Franco). The three are brought before the International Criminal Court of the League of Nations to justify their atrocities.

Appropriately enough, the supposedly haunted Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton is currently playing host to the happy spooks of 3-D Theatricals' regional production of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, which continues performances at this historic theater through October 25 before migrating south to the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center for shows October 31 - November 8. Filled with gleeful, cheese-tastic one-liners and catchy, cleverly written tunes from Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, Big Fish), this seemingly underrated stage musical gem is a lively, highly-amusing little comedy that celebrates individual uniqueness while poking lots of giddy fun at fragile family dynamics, pointing out that even the most creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky beings among us face the same kinds of OMG-drama that so-called 'normals' do. As an added bonus, 3DT's production features a stellar cast led by TV's Bronson Pinchot as Gomez and Broadway vet Rachel York as Morticia.
