The Public Theater has announced an addition to the company of the New York premiere of MOTHER OF THE MAID, written by Emmy Award winner Jane Anderson. Kelley Curran joins the company as Lady of the Court beginning Friday, October 26, stepping in for Kate Jennings Grant who is departing the lauded production due to a scheduling conflict.

Directed by Emmy Award nominee Matthew Penn, the riveting new play was initially extended through Sunday, December 2 and has been extended a final three weeks through Sunday, December 23.

Behind most poverty-to-celebrity stories, there's usually a hard-working parent or two who dreamed of a better life for their child, but perhaps never imagined that better life might include rock stardom, athletic heroism or, in the case of Jane Anderson's Mother of the Maid, breaking all gender molds to lead an army that will free their enslaved country.
