Jessie Mueller, Anika Larsen, & Jarrod Spector to Remain with Broadway's BEAUTIFUL into 2015

Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that Jessie Mueller, who won rave reviews and the 2014 Tony Award for her heartwarming portrayal of Carole King, has extended her contract in Beautiful - The Carole King Musical until March 6, 2015. Her co-stars, Tony Award-nominees Anika Larsen and Jarrod Spector, who play legendary songwriting couple Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, will remain in the show until September 2015.

Jessie Mueller Will Not Hit the Road with BEAUTIFUL National Tour

Earlier this monthEarlier this month, the Toronto Star reported that Chilina Kennedy, who made her Broadway debut in 2012's Jesus Christ Superstar, would soon join the Broadway production of BEAUTIFUL as 'Carole King' in early 2015, when current star Mueller leaves to lead the national tour. BroadwayWorld has just learned from a show representative however, that the Tony winner will not hit the road with the touring cast. Casting is currently underway.

Just yesterday, beloved songwriters Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, along with cast members from Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, gathered at Serendipity 3 to celebrate their 60th Anniversary with the unveiling of a new treat, the 'Pleasant Valley Sundae': a chart-topping concoction of three scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, drizzled with 'Some Kind of Wonderful' caramel, chocolate, and white chocolate sauces, balancing a solid dark chocolate Baby Grand Piano, holding yet another scoop of vanilla ice cream rising to stardom and completed with a dark chocolate piano lid, grasping a music legend cloud of whipped cream, leading down to a 'Pleasant Valley Sunday' sprinkled with candy musical notes to surely make 'The Earth Move' under your feet! Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing have announced that the Tony Award-winning hit Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter, has recouped its production costs in less than ten months on Broadway. Capitalized at $13 million, Beautiful has been breaking box office records at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) since it opened in January and now becomes the first new musical of the 2013-2014 Season to recoup.

Campbell, previously with Jersey Boys, will step into the role of 'Gerry Goffin' in Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, beginning Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Campbell will take over for Jake Epstein. Beautiful - The Carole King Musical opened on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) on Sunday, January 12, 2014, where it has broken all box office records and continues to play to standing-room-only crowds nightly.

Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that the Tony Award-winning hit Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter, will expand across America and the world in 2015. The West End production of Beautiful will begin previews on February 10, 2015 in the West End at London's Aldwych Theatre, with an official opening night set for February 25, 2015. The First American National Tour of Beautiful will launch in September 2015, beginning at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) in Providence, Rhode Island (September 15-20, 2015); a 12-week limited engagement at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago, IL (December 1, 2015 - February 21, 2016); and will play the Hollywood Pantages in Los Angeles, CA; DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham, NC in October 2015; and Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, NC, among other cities across the country.
