On New York City’s Rehearsal Club “Recognition Day,” May 11th, Bear Manor is releasing its new title, -- Cinderellas of West 53rd Street: Stories from the Legendary Rehearsal Club, with a special book-signing event at The Museum of Broadway.

Queens Rising is holding an open call for Queens-based visual artists to present work in a month-long gallery show entitled Queens Seen: What Artists are Creating in the World's Borough. In partnership with Culture Lab LIC, this gallery show will highlight a variety of work intended to show the brilliance, creativity, and beauty of some of the visual art happening in Queens.

Cleveland Play House will bring its 2022-2023 season to a close with the world premiere production of Ken Ludwig's Moriarty: A New Sherlock Holmes Adventure. Running April 29 through May 21 in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

Midway through the programme, Lovano delivers the bluesy “One for Charlie” as a solo tenor tribute to Charlie Haden, investing every note with meaning, as the tune’s dedicatee once did. Jazz at Princeton University, helmed by acclaimed saxophonist/composer Rudresh Mahanthappa, presents the annual Princeton University Jazz Festival on Saturday, April 15. The festival features Artemis, Jazz at Princeton's chair Rudresh Mahanthappa and his Bird Calls ensemble, jazz greats playing with Princeton's exceptional student groups, and the legendary Rufus Reid with the Creative Large Ensemble.

Playwrights Horizons and MCC Theater will present the world premiere of John J. Caswell, Jr.'s Wet Brain, directed by Dustin Wills. A terrifyingly inventive look at addiction's ability to transform one's existence and relationships, Wet Brain offers an American family drama that is not only freed from realism, but also, perhaps unmoored from Earth itself.

All of these theaters had programming that was - you know, sort of your tent poles on the mainstage, your occasional blockbuster musical. On the second stage, there was riskier work, new work being developed that might not appeal to a 700-seat audience. I thought that was incredible - you're doing these blockbuster Broadway musicals, the best of the best plays, and then new work that is exciting and thrilling. And that sort of became part of my DNA as I was thinking about directing.

Disney's High School Musical, the smash hit Broadway musical based on the beloved Disney Channel Original Movie, produced by Richard Mazda will be performed at The Secret Theatre.
