The Lion King - the most successful title in musical theatre history - passes another historic milestone this week, welcoming its 100,000,000th guest worldwide. Since its Broadway premiere on November 13, 1997, 25 productions have played in 100 cities around the world on every continent except Antarctica.

In honor of the show's 20th anniversary, The Lion King cast members Adrienne Walker, who's been playing Nala on Broadway since July of 2016, and Agust n Arg ello, currently starring as Simba in Mexico City's production, released a performance of 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' in Spanish and English. On this day in 2000, The Lion King,reached its 1,000th performance at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Based on the animated film of the same name,  the show opened on Broadway November 13, 1997 and won the 1998 Tony Award for Best Musical.
