Produced by DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, SHREK THE MUSICAL® is based on the story and characters from William Steig's book Shrek! and the Oscar®-winning original Dreamworks Animation feature film Shrek, the first chapter in the series of irreverent fairy tales. Tickets for the new stage musical are on sale for performances until February 19, 2012. SHREK THE MUSICAL played on Broadway from December 2008 to January 2010 and was nominated for eight Tony Awards, winning Tim Hatley the Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical. The original creative team has now re-assembled to stage the production with new songs and additional scenes. May 2nd marks the launch of Monday Night Lights.

The New York Times reports today that following his stint in DRIVING MISS DAISY, James Earl Jones will be hanging around Broadway a bit longer, assuming the role of Arthur Hockstader in the revival of Gore Vidal's 'The Best Man.' The production is scheduled to open in the spring of 2012. Orphan's Home Cycle director Michael Wilson will helm the revival. The plot centers around chief executive Hockstader trying to decide which presidental nominees to support: William Russell and Joe Cantwell.

Producer Jeffrey Richards announced that returning to Broadway in 2012 will be GORE VIDAL'S THE BEST MAN.

Hosted by The Central Heating Lab at ACT, the RAWSTOCK Summer Film Festival includes an all-star lineup of independent Seattle filmmaker premieres. David Lowery's evocative and sublime feature film, St.Nick, is a 70-minute tone poem that evokes Malick in its bittersweet chronicle of a runaway brother and sister and their symbiotic relationship. This feature length Seattle premiere is preceded by a program of all new shorts from cutting-edge local filmmakers, including Shawn Telford and Jason Reid. Directors David Lowery, Shawn Telford, and Calvin Reeder will be in attendance for a pre-screening Q&A.

The evening is bookended by two decadent parties sponsored by Bulliet Bourbon and features live music from The Fred Roth Revue. Yet any description of the night falls short of capturing the energy and essence of this event. As local filmmaker Darrius Scheider recently opined, 'The only way to describe RAWSTOCK is to experience RAWSTOCK.'

The Central Heating Lab at ACT hosts the final RAWSTOCK film and music festival of 2008, RAWSTOCK ATTACKS! on October 17 at 8:45 p.m. RAWSTOCK ATTACKS! closes the 2008 season with a fantastic lineup of darkly themed entertainment chock full of grindhouse, horror and black comedy. Featured are: Chris Smith's Delivery, Nash Edgerton's Lucky and Calvin Lee Reeder's Little Farm. Alex Ferrari and Jason Biggs provide cutting edge animation with Red Princess and Broken respectively.
