Pegasus Theatre Chicago Announces 30th YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL Featuring Four New Works by Emerging Artists

Pegasus Theatre Chicago is proud to announce the authors and plays being presented at the 30th Young Playwrights Festival, January 4 - 29 at Pegasus's resident home Chicago Dramatists, 773 N. Aberdeen. This year's world premieres, written by high school students and given a staged professional production, explore the theme of 'Assumptions.' Each winning production is performed in tandem Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. with weekday student matinees. Previews are Wednesday, Jan. 4 - Saturday, Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Opening night is Sunday, Jan. 8 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $18 - $30 and available at PegausTheatreChicago.com or by phone at 866.811.4111.

Pegasus Theatre Chicago (Pegasus) shines the spotlight on emerging authors with the 28th annual Young Playwrights Festival, an annual professional production of next-generation, one-act plays penned by Chicago teens, Jan. 5 through 31. The 2015 Festival, at the new location of Chicago Dramatists, 1105 W. Chicago Ave., explores the theme of 'something wicked interferes' through four one-act premieres. Previews are Jan. 1 - 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 4 at 3 p.m. Press and opening of Young Playwrights Festival is Monday, Jan. 5 at 7:00 p.m. Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8 through 31.Tickets range from $18 to $30 and are available at www.PegasusTheatreChicago.org or the box office at 773-878-8864.

This show was conceived by Rebecca Feldman, with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin, and additional material by Jay Reiss.
