Honest Accomplice Theatre is dedicated to creating art for social change and last night premiered the  The Trans Literacy Project at a once in a lifetime benefit event on September 19, 2016 at 42 West in New York, NY.   Hosted by Susan Blackwell this evening featured the launch of The Trans Literacy Project as well as a celebrity game night.

Urban Stages celebrates its critically-acclaimed 32nd season at the Central Park Boathouse on Monday, May 23rd at 6:30pm. This year's annual gala will honor the renowned Karen Akers with Urban Stages Musical Artist Award presented by ten-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune.

Through dialogue, movement, song, humor, and multimedia, the performance examines such themes as partner communication, sexual identity, the de-sexualization of aging women, today's "hook-up" culture, and sexual health.

t may not be like getting a gift on each of the 12 Days of Christmas, but for cabaret and musical theater lovers, the 6th Annual Urban Stages Winter Rhythms series--presented over a dozen nights at the not-for-profit Off-Broadway theatre on 259 West 30th Street--could be the closest thing to opening a daily present by the tree. From December 2-14 (no shows on Dec. 9), more than 100 singers, musicians, and songwriters will perform in an eclectic mix of 20 shows including one-night-only group shows, excerpts from new musicals, solo shows, open mics, late night spotlights, and family matinees, with all the proceeds from ticket sales dedicated to the Urban Stages On Tour Outreach Program that brings more than 200 free multicultural theater and music programs to elementary and middle school age children and their families in libraries and schools throughout NYC five boroughs.

Urban Stages, the acclaimed Off-Broadway theatre, is presenting Jessie and the Case of The Missing Candy by Laura Konsin, directed by Rachel Sullivan and performed by Liz Parker.

The Public Theater presents The Civilian's THE GREAT IMMENSITY, written and directed by Steve Cosson with songs by Michael Friedman. THE GREAT IMMENSITY is a highly theatrical look into one of the most vital questions of our time: how can we change ourselves and our society in time to solve the enormous environmental challenges that confront us?
