On June 1st, Nicole Blaine (NBC, E!, Amazon Prime, HBO's Women in Comedy Festival) is opening The Crow – a new comedy space at Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica.  Featuring seasoned performers and L.A.'s most exciting new voices, The Crow will offer both family-friendly and not-so-family-friendly shows.

Hudson Hall at the historic Hudson Opera House invites audiences to embrace a sense of adventure with a new season of music, theater, exhibitions, film, book launches, special events, and community programs this August to December.

From the food we eat, to the cars we drive (and that increasingly drive themselves!), to the medical innovations that save the lives of those we care about, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) shape our everyday lives. Yet, only 14% of the STEM workforce are women, and data does not even exist on trans people.

In DADA WOOF PAPA HOT, now in its Chicago premiere at About Face Theatre, playwright Peter Parnell explores that nagging question of what it means to have it all. The play centers on a gay couple and their circle of friends. Though Alan (Bruch Reed) and Rob (Benjamin Sprunger) have been together for fifteen years, they've been married for a much shorter period of time and must navigate their shifting identities as partners and as parents of their three-year-old daughter, Nicola. (The play's seemingly nonsensical title refers to her first words and attempt at her parents' names.) The characters in DADA WOOF PAPA HOT are clearly well-off, but that doesn't make the ways in which they struggle with the challenges of daily life and parenthood any less human.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) is pleased to a limited engagement of a new kids show, Layer the Walls. The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) has announced the performer lineup for two of their concert events: Women of Note, and How The Light Gets In; and a new panel discussion with Honest Accomplice Theatre, titled Expanding Representations of Gender Identity and Sexuality on Stage.

Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill presented the 2017 Urban Stages' Lifetime Achievement Award to Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award-winning legendary set and costume designer Tony Walton.  The celebrated Broadway, TV and film star,  Melissa Errico, ("Billions", My Fair Lady, High Society, Encores' Do I Hear a Waltz?), presented the award to her mentor and close friend, Tony Waltonat the annual benefit at the Boathouse in Central Park.
