Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is a play with enjoyable moments and talented performers. Unfortunately, the production simply has too limited a range of emotion to be memorable.

A provocative, modern, and intimate play about the processes of troubled, magnificent minds, 'Proof' provides the sweet relief of calm moments amongst a hailstorm barrage of trauma.

“In The Next Room,” illustrates how the mass availability of technology paves the way for social change. Yet at it's core, Ruhl's play is about the personal details of her characters' private lives and desires; and how the availability of electricity changes their lifestyle—from the physician's office to the living room to the bedroom.

The Heritage Ensemble Theatre Company often likes to intertwine the familiar with the unfamiliar, so they are presenting two provocative works in rotating repertory at Firehouse. Audiences can experience the female point of view in Ntozake Shange's ground-breaking choreopoem FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF, and then explore the male response in Keith Antar Mason's FOR BLACK BOYS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED HOMICIDE WHEN THE STREETS WERE TOO MUCH.

For the past 13 years, Jim Caruso's Cast Party has been the place for Broadway, jazz and cabaret performers to celebrate and entertain each other. Not many actors get to revisit a role they played in the past, much less reprise it on the big screen, but Pamela Shaw is the exception.

With a screenplay by Ahrens, and directed by Christopher Ashley, the new movie version of the Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty musical LUCKY STIFF is now in theaters and On Demand. This hysterical musical comedy with a romantic heart stars Tony Award-winners Jason Alexander (JEROME ROBBINS BROADWAY, FISH IN THE DARK) and Nikki M. Veteran independent film distributor Richard Abramowitz announced that his company Abramorama, will release LUCKY STIFF in New York City today, July 24th. The Orchard will compliment the theatrical release by making the film available to all U.S. and Canadian cable, satellite and digital platforms for a simultaneous day and date release.

The Theatre Group at SBCC will open the 2015/16 anniversary season with the well-loved musical, Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN, Book, Music and Lyrics by Meredith Willson, Story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey. Directed by R. Michael Gros and Musical Direction by David Potter, The Music Man will perform tonight, July 10, through July 25, 2015 in the beautiful Garvin Theatre.
