North Texas Performing Arts is celebrating its 30th Anniversary throughout 2021 with The NTPA 30th Anniversary Celebration Series, featuring eight shows that have been fan favorites at NTPA over the past three decades.

With book and lyrics by Metta's Artistic Director P Burton-Morgan, and music and lyrics from Stiles + Drewe award winner Ben Glasstone (Reanimator), THE RHYTHMICS explores the crisis of masculinity via a collection of oddballs belting their way through a thrillingly catchy guitar-led score.

Per state guidelines, masks will not be required although they are recommended for those who are unvaccinated and the theatre encourages anyone who would like to wear one to do so. Learn more about the guidelines and purchase tickets here!

GURNEY’s Love Letters, directed by ROY MARSDEN, at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The play opened on 3 December 2020, the first day after the Prime Minister decreed that lockdown would end.

On Sunday, March 15, a very hungry caterpillar will eat its way through Queens, a chameleon will visit a zoo, and a brown bear will discover colors, in a heartwarming performance by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia. The innovative theatre-traveling from Canada to Flushing-will present two shows that day-one in English and one in Mandarin.

On Saturday, February 22, I had the pleasure of seeing the opening performance of THE LITTLE MERMAID at the Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre, in Bridgeport, CT. This adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story, made famous to younger generations by the animated Disney movie is written by Phill Hill.  Having never personally read the Hans Christian Andersen story, my character name references will be based on the Disney adaptation, which I do believe is likely to be the version most well known.  Ricky Altamirano directs, choreographs and stars as Hermit, the crab Disney calls a?oeSebastian.a??

Babylon's shores are brimming and bubbling with beautiful brine now that Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' and half the ocean washed up on the stage of the Argyle Theatre. Ariel, Ursula, King Triton, and a mix of maritime mavens present the classic underwater adventure based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen and the Disney film.
