BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in lower Manhattan, proudly presents the next event in the 2019-2020 Family Series Season: Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favourites on Saturday, February 29 at 11:00AM. The Very Hungry Caterpillar... is the fifth show in BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center's 2019-2020 Family Theater Season, featuring plays, musicals, puppetry, concerts and dance for all ages.

Performances begin TOMORROW, Thursday, January 16, 2020 for a limited engagement through Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2020 at The Argyle Theatre (34 West Main Street, Babylon, Long Island).

Performances begin Thursday, January 16, 2020 for a limited engagement through Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2020 at The Argyle Theatre (34 West Main Street, Babylon, Long Island). Opening Night is Saturday evening, January 18, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. Disney's The Little Mermaid is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Irving Weiser composed the song 'There I Go' which was #1 in the USA for three weeks in December, 1940. It was recorded by Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Fats Waller, Dinah Washington and about 30 others. Weiser also composed the music for the song 'That's My Affair' which is sung by the Andrews Sisters in the Universal film Always A Bridesmaid. Weiser turned to teaching music in the 1950s, but never stopped composing. He placed his songs in a box in his basement where they remained hidden for decades. After Weiser's grandson, Adam Kreiselman, discovered the box, he founded Kreiselman Music Publishing to focus on the Weiser catalog. Demos and videos are regularly produced and all songs are available for licensing.

Musical Theatre of Anthem (MTA) announces their upcoming production of The Little Mermaid JR. Journey 'under the sea' with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.

Continuing in its mission to bring substantial children's programming to Detroit area kids with our Family Theater Series, Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts is proud to bring back the iconic and beloved, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Little Cloud and The Mixed-up Chameleon by award-winning children's book illustrator and writer, Eric Carle, retold on stage in black light for one great show, Sunday, November 24th at 4PM.

Circus Incognitus is the first show of BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center's 2019-2020 Family Theater Season, featuring plays, musicals, puppetry, concerts and dance for all ages.  

Marcus Pfister's award-winning, colorful book The Rainbow Fish comes to life with enchanting puppetry at Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre in Malibu on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Kids of all ages can explore the underwater kingdom of Atlantis during the WST for Kids' production of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, JR. Based on and adapted from the Academy Award-winning 1989 Disney movie and Broadway production, this hour-long musical will appear on the Walnut Mainstage beginning September 21 and now extended through October 6, 2019.

Los Angeles-based hip-hop dance troupe Versa-Style Dance Company, Canadian Celtic group Derina Harvey Band, and the electrifying gospel performance of We Shall Overcome are just a few of the companies scheduled to perform as part of the ARTSReach program at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts this season.

Currently docked at the Carpenter Center for the Performing Arts in Long Beach through July 28 is Musical Theater West's wonderfully vibrant new regional production of THE LITTLE MERMAID, Disney's Broadway stage adaptation of their hit 1989 animated classic, which itself was adapted from the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. The resulting show achieves a cheerful, pleasant, and often charming hybrid that honors the original Disney-esque qualities of the film, but also shows what one may call a 'director's cut'---wherein the new 'extras' expand the musical even further in size, elements, and thematic mood. MTW's production is a visual treat.
