The 1/52 Project, the new financial grant program founded by Tony Award-winning set designer Beowulf Boritt, has selected the first seven early-career designer recipients to benefit from $100,000 in grants.

Award-winning Broadway playwright Theresa Rebeck will write the book for the Broadway-aimed Working Girl. While she's had more plays produced on Broadway than any female playwright of our time, Working Girl would mark Rebeck's Broadway debut as a book writer for a musical.

Producers Naoya Kinoshita, Kumiko Yoshii, and Michael Wolk have shared a first look at The Karate Kid – The Musical ahead of its pre-Broadway, world premier engagement with STAGES St. Louis at the Ross Family Theatre at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center which begins previews Wednesday, May 25 with an opening night on Wednesday, June 1.

The first ever Japan Parade in New York City will be held on Saturday, May 14, beginning at 1pm.  The purpose of the parade is to celebrate, express and bring awareness to the friendship between NYC and Japan with a thank you from the Japanese community. At yesterday’s Annual Meeting of The Broadway League, the membership elected a new Board of Governors, a new Vice Chair of the Road, and reelected the Secretary/Treasurer. The current Chair, Lauren Reid, will retain her position for the two years remaining in her term.
