Many of New York City and the country's most renowned dancers and dance companies performed on Monday, April 18 at 7:30pmat The Joyce Theater (175 8th Avenue), where the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation presented DESTINY RISING, an evening of dance artistry to benefit the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation College Scholarship Program (which to date has awarded over $17 million in college scholarships to over 300 dancers all over the country). The beloved ballerina, choreographer, teacher, and writer was an early mentor of VKIBC and Valentina Kozlova.   Ms. Verdy was a judge in the first edition of VKIBC and later a competition honorary chairman.

Bergen County Players, the pre-eminent community theatre organization in New Jersey, located at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, and winner of NJACT's 2015 Theatre of the Year, presents "The Irish Curse", written by Martin Casella and directed by Ray Yucis, for a limited run on February 27th at 2 pm and 28th at 7 pm. The February 27th performance is already sold out and fewer than 25 seats remain for the performance on February 28th.

The Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (VKIBC 2016) is dedicated to Violette Verdy, a wonderful human being as well as an early mentor of VKIBC and Valentina Kozlova. Ms. Verdy was a judge in the first edition of VKIBC and later a competition honorary chairman. This year's event will be held April 25-30, 2016 at Symphony Space (95th Street and Broadway) in New York City.

Bergen County Players continues its 83rd season with Ken Ludwig's hysterical comedy, Leading Ladies. Opening February 13, 2016, the high-heeled hilarity will run through March 5, 2016 at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. Leading Ladies is helmed by veteran director Lynne Lupfer of Tenafly. Those who bring their 'leading lady' to Leading Ladies over the Valentine's Day Weekend (February 13th or 14th) will get the second ticket for free!

Over 1,500 student dancers from across the United States (ages 6-18) are set to visit NYC from June 29th-July 6th to attend the NYC Dance Alliance National Season Finale which since 2010 has awarded more than $12.5 million in college scholarships.

Bergen County Players is thrilled to present the final production of its 2014-2015 season, 'The Mouse That Roared', adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel and directed by Lynne Lupfer. 'The Mouse That Roared', the second and final Second Stage production of the season, will be performed only on Saturday, June 6th at 8 pm and Sunday, June 7th at 2 pm at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. The Victory Dance Project will celebrate its first anniversary with an evening of dance entitled People, Power and Possibility on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 7 pm at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street (at 9th Avenue).  The performance will feature five works choreographed by Company Director Amy Jordan, including Big Fun, and the premiere of an excerpt from Thru the Looking Glass and Human Revolution, a contemporary ballet in five sections. The evening will honor former Ailey star Principal Dancer Renee Robinson, a renowned dance artist who will receive the company's First Annual Artist for Peace Award. 

ROLEX presented NEW YORK NEW YORK a helluva town -- Career Transition For Dancers' 29th Anniversary Jubilee on Monday, October 6th, 2014 at New York City Center, 131 West 55 Street (btwn. 6th & 7th Aves.), NYC followed by dinner at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York. Angela Lansbury received the 2014 Rolex Dance Award. James Earl Jones, Ms. Lansbury's Driving Miss Daisy co-star, presented her with the award. The 2014 Career Transition For Dancers Outstanding Contributions to the World of Dance Awards honorees went to Janice Galli Becker, Fe Saracino Fendi, and Joe Tremaine & Tremaine Dance Conventions & Competitions. 1,500 student dancers from across the United States (ages 6-18) are set to attend the NYC Dance Alliance National Season Finale which since 2010 has awarded more than $8.4 million in college scholarships. Taking place from June 30th–July 7th at the Sheraton NY (811 7th Avenue) just north of Times Square, several past student participants have gone on to perform on Broadway and be principal dancers at some of the country's most respected dance companies and past participants have also been winners of the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance and also appear as pros on Dancing with the Stars.

The 32nd Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards were held on Monday, June 2 at 7:30pm at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The winners for the evening were Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards (After Midnight) & Karine Plantadit (After Midnight) a tie for Outstanding Female Dancer in a Broadway Show; Jared Grimes (After Midnight) for Outstanding Male Dancer in a Broadway Show; and Warren Carlyle (After Midnight) for Outstanding Choreographer for a Broadway Show. Continuing its 'From Page to Stage' 81st season, Bergen County Players (BCP) will present its annual holiday show, Aladdin, a theatrical magic carpet ride for the entire family. Building on its commitment to providing theater that entertains, challenges and inspires young people and families, BCP will present Aladdin at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from November 30th through December 22nd. Children of all ages will be thrilled to follow Aladdin's quest to capture the heart of the beautiful princess Mei-Ling, taking him on a magical journey from rags to riches and featuring not one, but two fantastical genies! Shows will be on Fridays at 8pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm and 3:30pm. Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton announce three artists joining the organization's 18-member performing company: Emilie Leriche, Andrew Murdock and Bryna Pascoe. “Each is highly accomplished in both classical and contemporary dance,” says Edgerton, “and uniquely suited for Hubbard Street's active repertoire of works by major international choreographers.” All are scheduled to perform during the company's Fall Series, opening Season 36 with new works by Robyn Mineko Williams and Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo, plus repertoire by Mats Ek and Ohad Naharin, October 10–13, 2013 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.
