Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that Dean John-Wilson will play the role of Aladdin alongside Jade Ewen as Jasmine in the West End premiere of the new musical based on the classic Academy Award-winning animated film. BroadwayWorld previously reported that the duo were in negotiations for the show, but the official word came today.

Due to ill health, Sugababe Jade Ewen has regretfully stood down from her role in this spring's forthcoming tour of Godspell In Concert - the legendary rock musical from Stephen Schwartz - the Grammy and Academy Award- winning composer of WICKED. Stepping up to the mark at short notice is Laura Mansell, already a member of the current cast who are in rehearsals ahead of the tour opening at the Hackney Empire today, April 4th.

Last night, Monday 28 July, was the Opening Night of the Gershwins' Porgy and Bess which runs at Regents Park Open Air Theatre until 23 August. After the show, cast, creative team and invited guests enjoyed a summer drink of Canard Duchene Champagne on the lawn of Regents Park Open Air Theatre, accompanied by Belly Pork Croquettes with Roasted Corn Cream and Lemon Cone Trees. Last night (11 June 2014) the hit West End musical The Bodyguard celebrated Alexandra Burke joining the cast, playing the leading role of Oscar-nominated superstar Rachel Marron. Burke plays opposite Tristan Gemmill who continues in the role of Rachel's bodyguard, Frank Farmer. Check out the photos below!
