DISNEY'S BROADWAY HITS, a concert celebrating two decades of Disney Theatrical's stage musicals on Broadway, the West End and around the world, premiered last night at London's Royal Albert Hall. Featuring an appearance by Tony and eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken - who received an immediate and sustained standing ovation - and the 74 piece BBC Concert Orchestra under the baton of Keith Lockhart, the evening ended with a surprise appearance by the West End cast of Aladdin in a performance of the show-stopping 'Friend Like Me.'

Celebrating over 20 years of successful Disney shows on Broadway, the West End and around the World, including smash hits such as Mary Poppins, The Lion King and Aladdin, as well as shorter-running productions, King David, Tarzan and Aida, an all-star cast brought the magic of the movies to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall last night, in the European premiere of Disney's Broadway Hits.

Disney's new musical, Aladdin, which opened to critical acclaim in June 2016, has announced a new education programme. This consists of curriculum-linked education resources for Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils, workshops for pupils aged 7+ and a series of behind the scenes videos which include interviews with the multi award-winning creative team.

The talented pair launch into a special rendition of the musical's second act vaudevillian turn, 'Somebody's Got Your Back.'

Last night, Wednesday 15 June, saw the Opening Night of Disney's new West End musical Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre, London. Footage is also available to download featuring the cast's curtain call bows, celebrity arrivals on the carpet and interviews with the Aladdin cast and creative team including Dean John Wilson (Aladdin), Trevor Dion Nicholas (Genie) and Jade Ewen (Jasmine), composer Alan Menken and director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw at the post-show party at the National Gallery.

With 315 hours of rehearsals now complete; 68 tonnes of scenery hung at the Prince Edward Theatre; and 337 custom-designed, hand-made costumes created from over 1,225 varieties of fabric, adorned with millions of Swarovski crystals, Disney's new musical Aladdin will begin previews in the West End tonight.

Ahead of its West End premiere at the Prince Edward Theatre, rehearsal images for ALADDIN have been released today. The new Disney musical previews from May 27, opening on June 15, and is booking till October 1. Dean John-Wilson stars as Aladdin, alongside Jade Ewen as Jasmine, Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas as Genie, Don Gallagher as Jafar, Peter Howe as Iago, Irvine Iqbal as the Sultan, Nathan Amzi as Babkak, Stephen Rahman-Hughes as Kassim and Rachid Sabitri as Omar.

Disney Theatrical Productions' West End premiere of ALADDIN, based on the classic Academy Award-winning animated film, opens at the Prince Edward Theatre on Wednesday 15 June 2016, with previews from Friday 27 May. Last night (8 March 2016) marked the opening of the West End production of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL. With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. Last month, due to public demand, a further 200,000 tickets were released for sale taking bookings at the Shaftesbury Theatre to 18 February 2017. Tickets for the new booking period are on sale now. In The Heights returns to London following a critically acclaimed sell-out UK premiere at Southwark Playhouse in 2014.

Nathan Amzi will return to In The Heights for a limited two-week run, playing Piragua Guy from Monday 21 December 2015 to Sunday 3 January 2016. Nathan originated the role in the London production when it premiered at Southwark Playhouse in 2014. In The Heights recently extended its run at King's Cross Theatre for a second time, now booking for an additional 3 months until Sunday 10 April 2016.
