Drenched in beer and sweat, the uncontainable raw emotion you experience while the band's on stage is not lost on recording.

Jake Shears has released his new record, Last Man Dancing. The project features the new single, a brand new collaboration with Kylie Minogue (“Voices”), plus recent singles “Too Much Music” and “I Used To be In Love”. Following a recent run of support sets in the UK with Duran Duran, Shears will take Last Man Dancing on the road this summer.

Following up on the previously shared “Nicer Guy” and “Celebration” visuals, the trio have also dropped a new music video for “Blowing Up Things In The Woods,” an ode to the simple joys of fireworks, explosions, and pyrotechnic annihilation and an homage to their adolescence. Plus, check out upcoming tour dates!

The Beggar was recorded and mixed at Candy Bomber Studio, Berlin, engineered by Ingo Krauss and mastered by Doug Henderson at Micro-Moose, Berlin. The album was written and produced by Michael Gira and features contributions from recent and former Swans, members of Angels of Light, as well as Guest Swan Ben Frost.

The record was conceived between the US, Portugal, and London (where Jake relocated from his New Orleans home during the pandemic) alongside the sort of head-turning guestlist that, in Shears’ cross-pollinating universe, also makes total sense: from Amber Martin and Boys Noize to Big Freedia, Kylie Minogue, and cameos from Jane Fonda and Iggy Pop.

Throughout an unorthodox career that has Grammy nominations and tours, Jake Shears has continued to shape-shift: he has not only written an acclaimed memoir (‘Boys Keep Swinging’) and performed on Broadway, but also recently opened a musical in London to rave reviews (Tammy Faye, written alongside Elton John and British playwright James Graham).

The follow-up to his acclaimed 2021 tribute album which once again finds the saxophonist reimagining the songs of the Grateful Dead with his gritty and soulful Detroit sound joined by guests including Oteil Burbridge, Bob James, Jamey Johnson, Greg Leisz, and Don Was. The bulk of production and engineering on Beneath the Brightest Smiles was handled by Gordon Raphael with mixing by Dave Rowland (Post Malone, The-Dream, Pusha T, Ellie Goulding) at Mercy Sound Recording Studios (Blondie, Cher, Snoop Dogg, TV On The Radio, Yoko Ono, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato) in NYC’s East Village.

Jake Shears (the musician and frontman of seminal NYC indie glam-pop greats Scissor Sisters) has shared brand new track, “Devil Came Down the Dance Floor”, featuring Amber Martin. It’s the second preview of his forthcoming album Last Man Dancing, which was introduced in irresistible style recently with first single “Too Much Music”.

Produced, engineered and mixed by Declan Legge, the album is heralded by the premiere of the first single, “Morse Code,” available now at all DSPs and streaming services. LOVECOLOR is the new musical project of Ryan Carnes (Desperate Housewives, Cupid for Christmas, Doctor Who) and singer, songwriter and producer Vanessa Silberman. The band has shared their debut single 'Dangerous' and its accompanying video which was directed by Cosmos Kiindarius.

Called everything from “Southern New-Wave” to “Goth Americana” by the press, his genre-bending sound has drawn comparisons to singular acts like Orville Peck, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, and Iggy Pop, with releases accompanied by carefully-honed imagery and thematic narrative videos engaging a range of senses.

Jake Shears (the multidisciplinary musician and frontman of seminal NYC indie glam-pop greats Scissor Sisters) is back with a kinetic new single “Too Much Music”, the first taste of his new forthcoming solo album Last Man Dancing. Directed by Callum Macdiarmid, the stunning “Too Much Music” video sees Shears in suitably subversive form.

Billy Nomates, the project of the Bristol-based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Tor Maries, has shared new track, “vertigo”. The track follows the release of three BBC Radio 6 Music A-listed singles including the gentle, '80s-influenced, synth-pop bop “blue bones” which was a celebration of life.
