Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, under the artistic direction of Glenn Edgerton, and Kathryn Humphreys, Director of Youth, Education and Community Programs, announce two Adaptive Dance Programs: The Autism Project, for youth with autism spectrum disorder in grades 1–6; and Physically Integrated Dance, for neurotypical youth ages 8–16 with physical disabilities.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa today announced Hubbard Street Dance Chicago among 886 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive NEA Art Works grants. Hubbard Street is recommended for a $100,000 grant - the maximum single amount provided to Art Works grantees - in support of its Movement as Partnership (MAP) Program.

Beginning tonight, January 31, 2014, DanceWorks Chicago's monthly program Dance Chance has a new home at the Lou Conte Dance Studio in the Hubbard Street Dance Center, 1147 West Jackson Boulevard in Chicago's West Loop. Launched in March 2008 with prior venue the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, Dance Chance has encouraged dialogue between artists and audiences, and prompted the creation of more than 100 original works in diverse forms and techniques.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, under the artistic leadership of Glenn Edgerton, will present its first-ever mixed repertory program devoted to the work of a single choreographer during the Spring Series, March 13-16, 2014. This engagement's four works by Sarabande (1990), for an all-male ensemble and set to Bach's second partita for solo violin with electronically manipulated live vocals; and Falling Angels (1989), for a cast of eight women and set to part one of Steve Reich's phased-percussion composition, Drumming, to be performed live by Third Coast Percussion, Ensemble- in-Residence at the University of Notre Dame's DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.

Following the record-breaking attendance of Festival 2013, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces the 2014 Festival schedule. Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and a recipient of the National Medal of Arts. Noted dance writer Jennifer Dunning has called the Pillow "the dance center of the nation, possibly the world."

Hubbard Street's Summer Intensive in Iowa City is for advanced dance students ages 14-17, and runs June 16-July 11, 2014. Hubbard Street's Summer Intensive in Chicago is for advanced and professional dancers ages 18-24 and runs June 30-July 25, 2014.
