The Great American Melodrama Presents THE THREE MUSKETEERS, 3/8-4/22

Alexandre Dumas' timeless epic, The Three Musketeers, comes to the Melodrama stage in an adaptation by Kit Wilder that is full of daring duels and fast paced adventure. With direction by Katie Mack-Montenegro, set design by Brian Williams, costume design by Renee Van Niel, and fight choreography by Mr. Wilder, this swahsbuckling adventure follows a band of heroes in 17th century Paris who set out to defend the French Queen's honor and save her country from war.

Music Director Jacques Lacombe and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra present Beethoven's Third and Fifth Symphonies on a program that runs March 30-April 1 in Newark and New Brunswick. The program opens with the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winner and Montclair, New Jersey, resident George Walker's Sinfonia No. 4 (Strands), which the Orchestra co-commissioned as part of its New Jersey Roots Project.

Chicago Sinfonietta to Present 'Past Tense, Future Tense,' 4/19

The Chicago Sinfonietta, under the leadership of Music Director Mei-Ann Chen, will present Past Tense, Future Tense at Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago on Thursday, April 19, at 7:30 pm. Past Tense; Future Tense pays homage to the orchestra's inception under Paul Freeman in 1987 and will celebrate the orchestra's anniversary with throw back ticket prices of $18 each (for this concert only). Additionally, children's tickets are free with the purchase of adult admission.

PCPA Theaterfest will present the American Premiere of My Fairytale, a musical about Hans Christian Andersen directed by Scott Schwartz. My Fairytale began previews in Santa Maria August 12 and will run through August 20 before openning in Solvang's Festival Theater running from August 26 through September 25, 2011. After a memorable and record-breaking inaugural year, Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater celebrates its 61st anniversary season with Trouble in Mind, written by playwright Alice Childress. Childress was the first African-American woman to have her plays professionally produced in New York, and she became the first woman of color to win an Obie Award, in 1956 for Trouble in Mind (Best Original Production).
